Side-by-Side

The night was still young, for someone like Ryan though who hardly slept long hours. It was something close to eleven and which meant it wasn't long before the midnight clock stroked. But Ryan's focus was still on the laptop in front of him and he looked like he wasn't going to be done with whatever he was doing in due time.

He wanted to get something done tonight and he looked like he was actually desperate to do so. Time was running out, not the clock's time but for time related to the activities of the world, so he had every reason to be like that. Despite that, his mind was actually aiming at something that he couldn't actually achieve but he just wanted to try.

"We cannot make use of any sort of force because we both know the other awakened has something similar to that already. So we can only rely on the tech you have to achieve that," the being who had been with him all along had told him a short while before he commenced the work on the laptop.
