{3rd Person POV}
The filming process for 'The Departed' had been a smooth sailing for Oliver and co, mostly because the actors didn't have much in the way of conflicting schedules.
Hence, in under two months, the shooting was about to end.
There was only one scene left; the Rooftop scene, where Billy arrests Sullivan.
After the shooting would be wrapped up, the film would be sent for editing, and then test screenings would begin.
And today was the day where the rooftop scene would be shot.
Truth be told, Oliver had already filmed it before, but he felt that the actors weren't at their full potential, and so, they were going to be re-taking this scene.
They were currently on the rooftop of a building in New York, standing in for Boston.
"Alright everyone, get in position!" Oliver commanded.
Everyone followed, with Eric getting behind the door to the rooftop, and Keanu going to the side and hugging the wall.
"3, 2, 1… and action!" Getting the green signal, Eric (Colin) opened the rooftop door and looked around, before walking to his right.
Keanu (Billy), who was hiding to the left, sneaked up on him, kicking the door close while shouting "Freeze!" with a handgun in his palm.
Upon hearing Billy's words, Colin quickly brought up both his hands in the air and walked ahead. "Hey, hey, hey!"
"You fucking answer." Said Billy, trying to intimidate Colin. Billy looked back at the door and kicked it again to properly close it.
"Put the gun down!" SaidSColin in a panicky voice. "Put the gun-'' Billy interrupted Colin by searching his pockets, checking if he brought any weapons with him. "Put the gun down, alright? I came here to talk some sense into you." He added.
"Hands!" He ordered, while lightly hitting Colin in the sides.
"Alright, just act professional. I can get you your money. Just act-" He tried to reason, trying to calm the situation down.
However, this had the reverse effect.
"What'd you say?" Billy asked angrily, interrupting Colin again. Colin looked back at Billy, and repeated. "I can get you your money-" Before Colin could finish the sentence, Billy hit him in the face with the butt of the handgun.
Getting hit, Colin fell down on the concrete roof, on his all fours. He was now bleeding from his nose.
"You didn't come here to talk, alright? You came here to get arrested." Billy said, in a matter-of-factly way, while handcuffing Colin, who was shocked at the amount of blood that was coming out.
"You got fucking tapes of what? Costello was MY informant! I was a rat? Fuck you!" Said Colin, while Billy said nothing and took his handgun away. "Prove it! He was working for me!"
"Shut your fucking mouth." Ordered Billy, as he forcefully helped Colin to stand. "C'mon, get up!" He angrily ordered.
"Wow, what is this? A citizen's arrest? Blow me, alright?" Mocked Colin, while Billy pointed his handgun at Colin's head. "Only one of us is a cop here, Bill. You understand that, Bill?! No one here knows who you fucking are!"
"Would you shut the fuck up?!" Billy angrily shouted after fully checking Colin for any hidden weapons. He pushed Colin to walk to the rooftop door.
"I'm a Sergeant at the Massachusetts State Police, who the fuck are you?! I erased you!" Colin revealed.
Angrily, Billy grabbed Colin by the collar of his jacket and pushed him on the wall of the mechanical room.
"You erased me, huh?" Billy asked.
"Oh yeah, go ahead and shoot a cop, Einstein. Watch what happens." Colin mocked.
"Well what happens is this bullet will go right through your fucking head!" Billy shouted in anger.
"Watch what fucking happens!"
"What, so you can get the parade, huh? The bagpipes and bullshit? FUCK YOU! Fuck you and I'm arresting you!"
"This is the stupidest thing you could do!" Colin said, trying to stop Billy from going any further.
In response, Billy hit Colin with the butt of his handgun three times. "Shut the. Fuck. Up!" This made Colin falk down on the floor, rolling around to lay on his.
"I couldn't give a fuck if the charges don't stick, I'm still fucking arresting you." Bill said in a tired voice, and helped Colin to stand.
At that time, the door to the rooftop opened, and from it came Trooper Brown. Seeing Colin arrested, he quickly brought his gun up and aimed it at Billy.
Billy did the same, pointing it at Trooper Brown, and put his left hand around Colin's neck, binding him in a chokehold.
"Drop your weapon! And step away from Sergeant Sullivan!" Ordered Brown.
"I called you, you specifically. Look -" Billy said as he brought his handgun in a surrendering position. "You know who I am, I'm not gonna shoot. I told you to meet me downstairs"
"Help me! Help, help, help!" Pleaded Colin. Billy however, just ignored him.
"Put your weapon on the deck and step away from Sergeant Sullivan!"
"Where's Dignam?! I told you to bring Dignam!" Asked Billy.
"Shoot this motherfucker! Would you fucking shoot?!" Commanded Colin.
"Drop your weapon to the floor and we'll discuss!" Trooper Brown said.
"Look, he's Costello's rat! Alright? I got boxes of tapes! Evidence of the talk proving it!" Explained Billy.
Trooper Brown stayed quiet for a while, with hesitance written on his face. "Maybe you do." He said in a shaky voice, on the verge of crying. "But right now I need you to drop the weapon!"
"I told you, I have evidence cold kicking this prick to Costello, alright?" Billy tried to reason.
"Would you shoot this fucking prick?!" Shouted Colin, getting impatient.
"You know who I am! You know who I am. I'm taking him down-"
"Motherfucker." Muttered Colin. In response, Billy tightened his hold on Colin's neck.
"I'm taking him downstairs now!" Billy said, as he slowly made his way towards the rooftop door.
Trooper Brown still had his gun aimed at Billy, but he didn't move. Colin sniffled a cry, imagining his impending doom.
"You know who I am." Billy said one last time, before walking down the stairs and kicking open another door behind. He walked to the elevator, and used his shoulder to open the elevator door.
Trooper Brown followed him, still having his gun aimed, and yet, he didn't do anything, even as Billy entered the elevator with Colin as a hostage.
Billy quicker moved to the corner to click on the floor, and moved back to the centre.
As soon as the door closed, Billy stopped choking Colin, and pushed him a bit further ahead.
"A-aegh!" Groaned Colin, as he looked he was about to burst into tears at any moment.
He steeled himself, and said. "I can't wait to see you explain this to a fucking Suffolk County Jury, you fucking cock sucker. This is gonna be fucking fun." Colin breathed heavily, anticipating Billy to say something, but he didn't.
Instead, Billy cleared his throat and kept looking at the floor number. Colin too, looked above, and saw the '5' changing to '4'.
Colin's expression morphed into that of defeat and acceptance of his fate.
"Just… fucking kill me." Colin begged. "Just fucking kill me." He repeated again, his voice cracking.
"I am killing you." Billy said, before glancing at floor number again.
It changed from '1' to 'L', indicating that he had reached the ground floor.
As the door opened, Billy set his foot forward to walk outside -
*Bang*
Billy was shot through his head, with the blood spraying behind me, surprising Colin, who jumped back at the sound.
Billy's body slid to the elevator floor, and fell on the doorway.
The door tried to close, but it met Billy's lifeless body, forcing it to stay open.
Colin looked outside and saw a young man holding a handgun that was still aiming at Billy's dead body.
The young man motioned Colin to wait, taking hold of Billy's handgun and walking inside the elevator to Colin.
At that moment, the elevator beside them opened, and from it came Trooper Brown.
He slowly walked to the elevator where Colin was, but was shocked to see Billy's dead body.
Seeing a chance, the young man shot Trooper Brown through the head, with his body falling back.
"You think you were the only one he had on the inside?" The young man asked. "Costello was gonna sell us to the FBI. It's you and me now, you understand? We gotta take care of each other, you understand?" The young man said and walked to Trooper Brown's body.
Colin, too, walked out of the elevator.
Seeing that Trooper Brown was indeed dead, the young man put his handgun back to his side. He looked at Colin and gave him a handkerchief.
Colin used that handkerchief to take back his handgun.
Picking the gun, he shot the young man through the head.
Colin looked at the dead bodies around him, and put his gun back on the floor, and ran away from the crime scene.
"Cut!" Oliver shouted through the microphone, and walked towards the set.
"Absolutely amazing performance by everyone! Especially you, Eric! That second "fucking kill me" felt so real."
"Thank you, director. I had a lot of fun doing this." Eric said, bringing his hand forward for a handshake. "I hope to work with you again in the future."
Oliver reciprocated the feeling, and shook Eric's hand. "I hope so too. Anyways, I'll be hosting a party, would you like to come?"
"Sure. Just tell me the date and I'll be there."
And so, Oliver congratulated everyone on their performance and invited them to the party.
Christopher Bird was looking at all this, and there was only one thought in his mind.
"He'll surpass me for sure." He muttered.
