Chapter 30: Ivan
The faces of all the other preternaturals, friends and acquaintances of mine, and some new students that I didn’t know just yet, were all scared, but determined to save the Academy.
Spell after spell after spell was cast, trying to replenish ourselves the protection that the Sledovik Stone naturally shields the Academy from.
Starosta Volkova was calm and collected, and for the first time I realized why she was the Starosta of the Academy. To be able to remain so cool and at peace when such treats were attacking us non-stop now – people would’ve thought that she almost didn’t care.
But she was right there with us, facing the front lines. Students were strategically placed all over the castle, but for some reason the demons always tended to come through the front door.
If I was a demon, I would try to sneak in without anyone noticing me. But that’s just me and no one ever said that the demons were the brightest bunch. A lot of them were actually quite dumb.
