"Hello there User, I'm the creator of the system."
Reading the first sentence, Kael's hands instantly trembled in ecstasy and horror. It was like reading the sentence of his punishment on judgment day. His eyes widened as though he wanted to absorb every piece of information he read in detail. His heart starts thumping furiously.
This…
This is what he's been seeking ever since he acquired the system.
Composing himself, his eyes then moved downward.
"I know you must be perplexed as to what my identity and my purpose are."
Kael's breath hitched at the mention of his biggest question. Did he/she actually read my mind? How can it be the same as the question I want to ask if I got the chance to do so?
"You must be wondering, am I reading your mind, right?"
"Sh*t!" Kael couldn't help but curse at how the person writing the note seemed to know him too well at some point that it sounds like he/she's teasing him.
"Oh, I do know you too well. In fact, I know you inside-out. And before your thought goes wild, I assure you that you don't know me...Yet. Don't assume that I was a stalker, though! Anyways, forget about my identity. I'm here to give you a brief understanding of the system myself and my partner invented."
Reading to the last point, Kael relaxed his stiffened shoulders while paying attention attentively to the knowledge the man/woman was about to elaborate.
He then continues his reading.
"Well, you can say that the system is created based on video game elements. That's why you will find many aspects related to video games such as level, skills, crafting, etc. However, I do remind you that the system I created wasn't close to absolute. It has many flaws because it hasn't been perfected yet."
Kael wants to ask why it hasn't been completed but realizes it was only a one-way note, and there's no way he could ask that question at the moment.
"That's why I'm here to tell you that, you should refrain from using the system near the presence of an Elite Divergent and above. Please never disclose the system to anyone that you do not trust fully. I hope that you will implant my words deep inside your head."
Kael recalled the way principal, Agares, sensed his appraisal skill. Fortunately, he didn't get caught at that moment. Even now, chills still run down through his spine every time he remembers that matter.
"By the way, before I forget, I can't reveal my purpose due to certain circumstances, but what I can assure you is that I do not have any malicious intent. Therefore, you can relax and enjoy the privilege I gave to you."
Kael scoffed at this moment. Relax? More like depressed because in six months, his family will be in danger, by simply not reaching level 20 in time. Well, although his emotions are getting a bit better now, he still couldn't help but blame the system for its blunt words.
"With the system my partner and I created, your potential will no longer be obstructed by the unknown. I also included a piece of important advice each time you unlocked a new skill. I wish you Goodluck! Hope that we can meet face to face in the future."
CL
"CL…" Kael muttered in a daze.
He snapped out of his thought at the thunderous applause that resounded within the colosseum. He unconsciously smiled, thinking he's a lucky bast*rd by receiving a privilege where he could check his skills and status without meditating or pondering in deep thought. It was as though he had a personal teacher to guide him throughout his Divergent journey.
*Ting Ting*
The Sounds of ringing notifications brought his attention back to the system. There he can see a new note has arrived, along with an attachment.
[Incinerate]
"Draw a fire force from the core inside your body and channel it through your hand, and finally materialize it from your palm. Every skill you learned will be improved as long as you keep practicing them, including Incinerate. For the Incinerate case, the aspects that will be upgraded are the Firepower, Range of Distance, Cast Time, and MP cost. Later on, if you succeed in mastering it, you can manipulate Incinerate into any form you want."
After reading that Kael immediately went to open the attachment, and a second later, a video appeared with a play button.
Playing the video, Kael sees a tall man standing in the middle of a desert area with his whole appearance deliberately blurred and censored to conceal his identity. In the background, exist mountains of sand and blue skies tainted in a tint of orange.
"Dalaran State?" Kael muttered in uncertainty. From as far as he knows, the only state that has the majority of its region covered in the desert was Dalaran State. However, he wasn't sure either because the background could be man-made. (I changed 8 counties to 8 states."
He stopped his guessing game after he noticed the man gazing intently at him or to be exact, at the camera which was recording him. He then watches as the man raises his hand and points it over an open area. He didn't need to wait for too long before an orange-colored fire burst out from the center of his palm, however, he was shocked to find that the fire capacity of the man was so vast that the area across from him was immediately engulfed in orange fire. Kael estimated the wide range of the fires reached nearly 50 meters, akin to a blaze tsunami.
Kael's chains of thought broke as he watched the man soar towards the skies by using the flames as his booster like what Kael did just now during the battle with LG. But, the difference was, Kael's firepower and capacity weren't enough to lift his body from the ground, while this man seems to execute it pretty easily as though he has performed it countless times before.
Kael then saw a giant gruesome-looking worm emerging from the mountain of sands and roared loudly in the man's direction. Even just from the video alone, Kael can deduce the worm wasn't a mere weak mutated animal that one could trample on mildly.
The man seemed a little startled under the worm's roar and quickly went to stop his motions. He turned around and returned the worm's hideous roar with a stare.
Reflecting through Kael's eyes, was a view of a tall blurred man stretching his left hand backward. From it, the orange flame he released creating a gigantic ray of light, piercing beyond the clouds, occupying a part of the sky. His body was a bit tilted down. He stayed still for a while, brightening the surrounding area as though a miniature of the sun had arrived.
His right hand has long lost its flame, but strangely, his body remains floating in the sky balanced. Just as Kael wondered what the man was up to, he saw the man lifted his right hand and aimed it at where the worm was standing.
With a humongous pillar of flame flaring up to the sky, the man resembles a Flame Deity.
As if sensing danger, the worm with a flash movement, followed its instinct and briskly dug the sands to escape from the flames.
Witnessing this, the man didn't take any steps other than scoffing and instantly, crimson flames started to pour down like rain from the man's right palm.
That moment, the crimson flame began to descend on the area where the worm escaping with a loud burning sound and involuntarily increasing the nearby area temperature drastically. Even Kael that was perceiving the space around the area felt it already showing signs of distorting. The sand starts melting at a rapid pace. At this moment, Kael couldn't help but be astonished at the recording camera that was apparently able to withstand the pressure emitted by the crimson flame.
The incineration only lasted for ten seconds. And at the end of the demonstration, the mountain of sand has already been reduced to nothingness, revealing an unrecognizable black charred thing beneath it.
The video then ended.
Kael without any delay exhaled the breath that he has been suppressing throughout the time he pays attention to the video.
Only one word can describe his current emotions, it is, "Shock!"
