Chapter 2: THE MAIDEN WHO PLAYS THE SHENG

The young celestial fox finally open his black dazzling eyes. Seeing the azure sky from above, sounds of singing lovebirds nested above the branches. Coldness coming from the wind, and the lovely flowers still growing, lush moisture from the grass completely covered the ground. Ming Yue, looking around these beautiful scenery caught his attention.

This world, is it the human realm? The world where humans live? He thought. Getting himself up, Ming Yue lower his head and saw an object shines and it was hanged on his slender neck. He touched the tear-shaped jade pendant. But why Yi Xing gave him this, it was in Yi Xing's possession when they were young.

He walked down from the mountains, his appearance as the celestial reveals every beauty on him. His long raven but silky hair fluttered by the wind, his beautiful rosy lips, his white and porcelain smooth skin.

As he passed by, suddenly Ming Yue heard a melodic sounds coming near him. Looking around and caught the sight of a young girl playing 'Sheng' beautifully, Ming Yue who was astonished by the sounds seen that the girl looking at him.

And after a few moments, she halted with her instrument, her eyes looks exactly like an euphoria, unlike her messy appearance. The ponytail that attached were loose and seeing the hair strands more messing up.

Her pink long robes smitten by the mud, and ragged on. Ming Yue, could only watched the young girl smiled at him, and twitched his brows found it more disturbing for him.

"Young Master, it seems you're going to the Shui Town?"

Ming Yue ignored her words, fixing her instrument and placing it on her back, using with the long blanket.

Until they reached the Shui Town in time. People as usual were doing their business. Children are playing in the grounds with their playmates cheerfully.

Ming Yue with the maiden beside him he would have asked that this little young girl here, knew something about this town but he choose not do it after all.

He went inside of an inn, sat on the occupied seat. After following Ming Yue all the way, the girl seat towards him, he placed her things on the table.

Ming Yue "...."

Why this human, following me all the way here? Is this how humans interacted with another?

"Young Master, how may I help you?" Ming Yue looked at the voice coming from an old man, and his eyes turn to the another person.

"Young Master, is this your companion here?" Then pointed her using his index finger. When Ming Yue turned to answer his question, suddenly a fist slammed on his table.

"Yes! I am!!!" the young girl stood up from her seat and proudly answered, placed her hand into her chest.

Waiter,"...."

Ming Yue, "....."

She pouted her lips, looking at them and turned back to her seat. Ming Yue couldn't believed this attitude coming from this midget with him. He had no time to answer the old man.

"O-okay, I see" the old man force himself showing his smile.

"Young Master, your friend here..you should protect her at all cost. It seems you're new here to this Town"

"Eh, what do you mean? I could protect myself here" the young girl protested. Seeing his skirt staining the table cloth, the old man just maintain his calm appearance.

"Have you heard about the Demon who lurks at night and stealing every maidens here in this town?"

"Nope, I haven't heard that"

"Now, that you have heard..be careful on your way"

"Hmm, should I be scared?"

"...."

"Aww..I'm hungry!"

Ming Yue having heard this conversation, only closed his eyes. Then, the old man returned to his kitchen.

"Young Master, my apologize for following your presence here. I'm He Qiong." He gladly introduced herself showing her beaming smile.

"Human, the reason why you were following because you don't know your way to the Town?"

Another pout showing on He Qiong's smooth face, "How mean~, I have a name and it's He Qiong!"

MingYue never mind to her ranting and still continue to ask, "Human, I don't have the time here..so don't follow me"

"I've told you, it's He- "

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!" A piercing sound came and echoed outside the inn. MingYue alarmed and rushed forward to the entrance without hesitation. He Qiong just followed him.

A shadow lurking at the top of the roof and another maiden was captured, as the moon illuminating on it's shadow. MingYue, tightly gripped and pulled out his sword.

Ming Yue attached his sword to the target from the distance. When he was assured that he can deal with the enemy, and almost jumped over. He Qiong made an advanced move and reached to the top.

Ming Yue's eyes creating a doubt on it, he thought this lady, were behind him. But there she is, standing in front and facing the adversary, a black aura surrounds to the unknown shadow, and the captive lose consciousness, but the body was tied into something white and strong thread that supports the victim's both arms and ankles. There's definitely a doubt, this shadow is a demon!

"Finally! It's been hundred years ago! You!" A woman's voice shrill into craziness. Ming Yue saw her marbles are about to lose. Are they knew each other? "Finally! Finally!! I'm going to kill you! Hahahahaha!"

Her fingers starting to control those white strings and attack He Qiong, who made her counter attack using her Sheng, a melody suddenly heard, the string are cut off, hearing this tune from the instrument. "Stop! S-top it, you f*cking vile woman!"

Ming Yue jumped to the roof and joined He Qiong, "Human, you better stay away from this."

He Qiong, "Young Master... it's He Qiong!"

Ming Yue ignored her, and focused his eyes on the enemy. He Qiong stopped playing her Sheng, "You, who are you? Do I know you? Have we met before?" Surprised by her answer, the demon blurted out her rage.

"F*ck! I can't believe that you've forgotten about me! How dare you! I'm your Empress! Arrrggh!" The demon palm-faced while looking at her.

"Eh, really? But thanks, you remember me, my apologies I'm not good memorizing people's name and faces." He Qiong awkwardly gave a laugh.

"I'll never forgive you! I'll kill you, Goddess of Taoist!"

A hundreds of strings emerged of nowhere and heading towards to both of them, He Qiong's easily dodged the assault, unfortunately to Ming Yue, who were captured and struggled.

Goddess of Taoist? Ming Yue slowly focused his eyes on He Qiong, and finally remember her name.

He Qiong, is the only female immortal that used a melodic but sharp instrument that could kill evil!

This midget is one of the legendary immortal that vanish a long time ago!
