Entering the lecture amphitheater felt like openly throwing yourself into the jaws of a shark. By the cold I felt I knew who was on the other side of the door before I could even open it. Maybe I should have snitched to Lobdell so he could pair me with another professor.
But the only Professor available was Professor Bes Mahmoud El Salah and he hated me because I had discredited his whole theory on how ancient Egypt had come to its end. Unfortunately for him my theory had more evidence backing up my claims and I may have destroyed his life work.
There was no way he would want me on his team after that ordeal. I just had to keep a clear mind about everything that was going on. Whether I met Runihura or not, I did not plan to entertain any sort of relationships during the first year of my employment.
