“What do I get if I win?” Jason squinted at him over the rim of his cup.

“Do you always have to get something? It’s just a game.”

“But why play if I don’t get to win anything?”

Tom shook his head and started peeling an egg—a plain white one. He wished they had time to paint them. He didn’t own any colours, but all of a sudden, he had this stupid notion of wanting to give Jason an Easter Sunday like the ones he’d had growing up.

“Honour.”

Jason held his gaze before giving him a nod. “You’re on.”
