Chapter 57: The Don's Wife

We waited with bated breath for the boss man's wife to return. Just to calm Jacob and anyone else who had doubts, I whispered an exit plan, "We'll abort the mission and zoom out if things go wrong."

They nodded in agreement.

We sat waiting for more than an hour, until we finally heard their door squeak open. Their voices were loud in the corridor and all of us almost forgot to breathe with the anxiety. They walked past and their voices gradually became more distant.

The lady did not return. We soon heard a car ignition turn on outside. As we peeked through the window, we saw the diabolical trio leave. Narissa recognized the car in which they had arrived at this mansion.

In a few minutes, the woman came back into the room. "You can speak a little bit now. Santino has gone to the pool area outside. And I've got something for you." She smiled, leaving us confused.
