Chapter 46: Return to Ely

Dinner was actually quite nice, but more than the food I enjoyed her company. We exchanged easy conversation with our childhood anecdotes. I couldn't stop smiling.

*I could easily get used to this.*

I asked her, when we sat down to relax after dinner, if she would be comfortable going to Ely by herself to find out about her parents. I assumed she may want some space to herself since she was going to be returning after a very long time.

"I'd be fine Sid, but I want you to be there with me. I want to share my experiences with you, whatever they maybe. If I find my parents, I want to share that happy moment. And if I get disappointed, I want you right beside me."

Her statement took me by surprise but made me extremely happy as well. I was elated that I meant so much to her. Her down-to-earth, unassuming and candid expression of emotion touched my heart.
