Chapter 44: Introducing Narissa

"Mom... Dad... This is a dear friend of mine Narissa. She's a healer. I wanted you guys to meet her." I nudged Narissa forward gently.

Narissa greeted and shook hands with both of them. "I'm very happy to meet you. I've seen how much Sid cares about his parents."

She turned to Dad, "Sir, Mr. Rajan, may I hold your hand?"

As my dad nodded, she sat down on the seat next to his bed and took his hand into hers. She closed her eyes and concentrated quietly for a good five minutes. Then she poured out a glass of water from the table on the side, held it for a minute and asked him to drink.

"You're already out of the woods, and you'll only get better," she assured him with a gentle touch on the shoulder. "Once you start to move around a little, please take your therapy very seriously."

My mom was smiling with hope, "He'll get better? You're sure."

"I'm sure," she fueled the hope with confidence.
