Chapter 35: Back to Routine

We returned home and waited for Archon. Narissa was now looking a lot more relaxed and at ease. She was getting along with the Toon boys too.

She noticed a waterfall nearby and was happy to freshen up there and feel the water on her skin. Water had been her home for so many years; it was as necessary for her to immerse herself in it, as important as breathing air.

I noticed that the environment in the lair had changed since she arrived. It seemed more homely - cozy and sedate. Maybe it was the presence of a female that made it so. We boys were not as rambunctious as we normally used to be.

We were discussing going back to work the next day and Narissa wanted to join us. I thought it was wonderful that she was taking a step towards keeping herself busy.
