Chapter 14: Emergence Of A New Era

After some time had elapsed, the spirits suddenly quietened down. But the aura I felt was still bleak and thick, after a moment of assessing the surroundings. I urged everyone to continue, because I suspected that they were trying to deceive us into believing we were successful.

Once again, we repeated the invocation persistently, and the screeching and howling resumed to extremely loud proportions. Just as I expected.

It took a few hours of praying tirelessly, when all of a sudden, the stained-glass windows shattered, and we felt an enormous gust of dark wind exit from the door and the windows. Everything became very still.

The ambience turned light and bright and there was a fleeting scent of roses. We could tell with conviction now that we had managed to successfully complete our mission.
