The Red Moon

Damien noticing the atmosphere tapped Raven on the shoulder, before walking up to both Evans and Athena, this allowed Athena to see both their appearances clearly and she felt they could only be described with one word 'beautiful', but she still felt apprehensive because she didn't know any of them. 

"You're going to tell her now, aren't you?" Raven asked Evans to which he nodded, seeing this Damien and Raven ushered both of them to sit on the stone slabs, so they could talk. 

"Make it quick we have only about 36 minutes" Raven said to which Athena glanced at him while furrowing her brows. 

"Okay" he said while turning to Athena to tell her what he knew while Raven and Damien gave them space. 

"I'm sure you have noticed some stuff, basically we know about the red moon and what comes after thanks to your dad, he came to us on the night after you were born, he didn't tell us the specifics just basically that sixteen years later they would be an apocalypse and the first sign would be us meeting you and also the red moon, that is why we have not had red moons in years, he gave us this rings and asked us that we protect you" he said while showing her the ring on the finger. 

"We did not believe him at first until two years later when, we first met you, you were here in the church, when you first saw us, you were crying and asking us to save your mom and dad, we had to ask you to show us where your parents are and you took us to the villa you lived in, then we met your dad again, and he had the saddest look on his face, after meeting your mom and dad once again we had to agree". Evans explained looking at Athena, she had a skeptical look on her face when he was about to ask what it was, she did not believe she spoke. 

"Why did you omit some details out?" Hearing this question Evans chuckled and stood up then ruffled her hair while saying "you'll find out these details yourself". Athena cocked her head to side while she watched him, then decided to not wait for an answer, since her dad said to trust him, she'll trust him. Glancing down at her wrist she took notice of the time, it was almost time for the red moon to appear, after pointing that out Damien led each one of them to a different cell and had them lock it from inside, to prevent any accident during the red moon. 

DURING THE RED MOON 

The red moon was here, nature had come to ask humanity for payment, well the government would also have a hand in whatever was going to happen post the red moon, on the streets humans could be seen walking those with superpowers and those without, when all of a sudden, they all dropped faint on the ground all at the same time. In every city, country, in every nook and cranny of the world all living things that could breathe all dropped to the ground. If one looked closely at each human on the floor, you would be able to tell who would be mutating to become a zombie and who would mutate and have a core for superpowers, one had violent reactions like seizures while the other was flushed red, looked like was having a fever and was perspiring. 

Somewhere in a military base in one of the male dorms, a boy about the age of 19 had both the fever and violent reactions, he was also looked he was having a nightmare and kept on muttering words like no, no, stop, leave her, run when it looked like he was going to mutate to a zombie he muttered a name "Athena" with tears at the corner of his eyes before he reverted back to only having a fever. A butterfly effect has occurred in the vision her dad saw . 

Somewhere else, in a very grand-looking mansion, the same situation occurred to a young-looking boy about the age of eighteen, but this time around no names were mentioned. 

Athena had fainted in the cell she was in and unlike other, she didn't have a fever or have violent reactions, but she was in excruciating pain, on her arms and necks were seals in the shape of circles and some looking like runes, with each disappearing every two minutes, past her clothes on her belly there was a round seal that looked painfully red, the color was gradually cooling and the seal was fading, after a while the seal on her body completely faded and soon after she fell into a deep sleep. 

TWO HOURS LATER 

Evans and Damien were the first to wake up in the church basement, they both glanced at each other and nodded before each got up and walked out of the cell to check on Raven and Athena, Raven woke up as soon as Evans got close to his cell, Raven threw the key for the cell gate at him which Evans caught to open the gate while Raven remained on the ground, Evans walked in and seeing this extended an arm to lift Raven up. 

"Umm guys" Damien voice sounded, making both Evans and Raven glance at him questioningly until they noticed Athena was still on the ground in her cell and she didn't seem to be getting up anytime soon. 

"She's not awake, is this supposed to happen?" Damien asked and for the first time he looked panicked. Raven and Evans both glanced at each other, then nodded. 

"Let's wait an hour if she isn't up, we'll break the cell lock" Evans stated calmly, the other two nodded, then sat in silence for a while before Raven decided to check the perimeters of the church. 

After Raven left, Damien glanced at Evans who was deep in his thoughts, before asking if he was alright

"I'm worried, she's not awake and her parents left us in charge of her" 

"She'll be alright, I think it because of the seal breaking, besides you should worry about yourself more, you're not safe anymore and if you meet them outside, we'll do our best to protect you, just don't implicate Athena as those people will be looking for her" Evans continued. 

"I know, I won't implicate her" Damien said.
