CHAPTER 58:
Lyra's POV:
I didn't say anything to Cyrus after passing the bridge.
The conversation made me feel un easy and a bit sad so I moved closer to the girls who surrounded Sam.
Jackie was talking to Tamar so this was the perfect time to interrogate him.
"you have to tell her sooner than later" Eri persisted.
"I don't know how to do that; since the day I set my eyes on her, I've wanted to be with her and it took time before we even got to be friends. I don't want to do anything that will make it awkward between us. Besides, I don't think she has feelings for me at all" he bowed his head.
We all exchanged glances before Imogen spoke up.
"she does like you; but doesn't know how to show it. Why don't you try making little moves towards her?"
"I'll think about it" he said shyly.
We rode for a little while and the forest got thicker and thicker.
The trees and wild life made me and the rest of the group feel at ease until the amount of trees began reducing and we could see the beach.
"we're almost there; guys let's go!" Rayhan called and we began riding our horses a little faster until here was nothing but sand.
"finally, this place is beautiful" I commented getting down from the horse.
There were different types of shells scattered around and the sun made the sand look golden.
Our swim wear was slightly different than what we wear during training so it wasn't so odd wearing it.
The boys' outfit was the only thing that was slightly different.
It stopped at their knees and was a bit bigger than them.

I sat on the shore of the beach looking at the endless blue ocean.
How the sun reflected on the water and made it shimmer was truly a sight to behold.
Everyone had someone to talk to:
Eri had Rayhan, Sam had Jackie and Tamar and Imogen were together.
I couldn't help but feel alone.
At least I have my mother with me.
"do you mind if I sit with you? Everyone is together and I don't want to be an intruder" Cyrus came up to me.
Here we go.
This is going to be very awkward.
"there's no problem at all" I mustered the best smile I could and watch him sit beside me.
We didn't speak at first but the silence was becoming too much.
"this is the first time in a while that I've willingly gone on a break from all my responsibilities" he sighed.
"well as a king you can do whatever you want"
"it's not that easy. Ever since I was crowned, the council has partially been running my life and I hate it because the kingdom comes first before my happiness. Though that's understandable but they tend to overdo it" he spoke without even glancing at me.
"your life sounds hard and difficult to endure"
"it is and the worst thing is I don't have anyone to help me out with it" he turned to look at me and I met his gaze.
I was about to say something when I felt cold water splash on my face and I couldn't help but look shocked.
Cyrus was trying his best to hold his laugh but it wasn't working.
Did he seriously just do that?
It was hard to fathom that the stone hearted king was playful.
I was about to complain again before he splashed some more and took off running.
"you're so dead" I took off running after him and used magic to send a small wave to him.
He was completely drenched and began glaring at me.
"whoops(!)" I smirked.
He chuckled lightly before running towards me and it was my turn to run away from him.
Eri's POV:
"did you seriously have to bury me under the sand?" Rayhan asked not opening his eyes as I piled more sand on his chest.
"it was difficult to see you doing nothing and not bury you" I giggled lightly.
I found him facing up with his eyes closed and began burying him.
Rayhan knew about it but didn't do anything.
"besides you make a fine sand man and with the final touch" I removed the little strands of hair on his face and then decided to remove the band in his hair and watched his brown locks tumble down.
I couldn't stop staring at him like he was the most fascinating thing I had ever seen.
And he was.
"you're staring" one of his eyes popped open and I shook out of my daze.
"well you look nice under the sun" I blushed and looked away.
With little to no effort he rose from the sand, cupped my cheeks and made me look him in the eye.
"but you more beautiful than the sun itself" he grinned, making my face go bright red.
I couldn't stop myself from leaning in and kissing him in front of everyone.
Our lips were perfectly molded against each other like we were meant for each other.
"I KNEW IT!" Lyra suddenly yelled coming towards me.
Me and Rayhan decided not to tell anyone about us being together but I guess we both broke our own rules today.
"why am I not surprised in the least?" Imogen folded her arms and shook her head.
"wait so you all knew?" Rayhan looked just as surprised as I was.
"from the very beginning; no offence but you two are terrible at hiding your emotions for each other" Lyra used a bit of magic to dunk water on me and I couldn't help but laugh.
"besides, Rayhan is a ladies' man so I wasn't too surprised"
Yes, Rayhan told me about his past a while ago and how he was known for not being able to fall in love with any lady and how he would use them.
At first I felt hurt and like I was another one of his conquests but he assured me that he would never betray me like that and that he's changed and hasn't so much looked at another woman since I came into his life.
I decided to trust his words since he hasn't shown any sign of disloyalty to me and pretended the entire conversation happened.
"well it's not my fault that I don't want to hide how I feel about the first and only love of my life; now if you'll excuse us, we're kinda busy"
Before I could process his words, he cupped my face again and kissed me deeply, using one hand to support himself.
Though I was about to object, the feeling of his soft lips and tongue made me think otherwise.
I found myself wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling myself closer to him when something hit me from the back of my head.
Everyone was in the water laughing at us.
"it's so on!" me and Rayhan rushed to the water and joined in on the fun.
