Jack was confined in an investigation room. He had not been granted with a bail since he was imprisoned. He was charged with domestic crime and was continuously under scrutiny and pressure to tell the official how he had managed to kill his girlfriend and hid her dead body.
He was constantly shivering while sitting in the steel chair. Sweats of nervosity were tracking down his face and he was incapable of noticing his body reaction. Today, those CIA officials would get back to this investigative room, shall ask him those similar questions and he would give his similar reaction and they shall go away by penning down the preliminary results.
Soon room got filled with two investigative officers. They had cold looks and a hint of ferocity could be noticed in their eye.
One of them ask directly:
"Why would you kill Maria David"?
They asked as if they were affirmative of jack a guilty of murder. They were looking forward to some kind of denial from Jack, where could have said that he didn't kill Maria but remained silent. He appeared of thinking something today. Something other than being called a guilty or murder. He looked sick , sitting in a tragic silence. As if he has something to say to them ,some big reveal, something about his crime but he didn't speak a word. The officer ask again
" why would you kill your girlfriend? Where is her damn dead body? Answer the goddamn question."
There was a huge silence in the response. Officers seem tired of asking the questions from this apparently inscrutable person.
"why you were shutting down your connectivity at time Maria approached you?"
Again , room fell silent and the effect of harsh sound passed away. Now the other officer had a paper in his hand ,where something like a poem was written. It was the similar one, he sent to Maria on the day she was being . Agent asked
"why did you talk in cryptographic form? How come you could remain so nonchalant on the new of Maria's departure?"
They had no regard to his poetic sense, his expression of love for Maria, his reverence towards his world. How possibly they can say that he had managed to kill Maria. Why these officers are not thinking straight? Who the hell on earth had manipulated their brains to think that he could be responsible for her death, for her untimely departure from his life. But officers had a job to do.. they needed something to write on their reports but it was Jack who was not cooperating, who was not giving them evidence so that they Could possibly charge him and could end this hectic routine.
Jack could have told them something. Something that could prove him innocent but he didn't express the battle going on in his mind. He didn't said anything in return. He let them allege him and he thought of never speaking the word. Let the destiny decide for him and let the destiny take the charge of his fate. He could have generate strength to endure any kind of court decision regarding this case. He could have born everything but he what he couldn't endure was this panicking split from Maria. This desolation from her was heavy slit of concrete on his chest. His trail of thought was suddenly broken down by another question when officer pulled out some miniature badge and showed it to him and asked :
"Do you recognize this badge? Isn't it your company logo? We managed to pull it from crime scene"
Jack remained cold, no expression floated on his face neither he looked careful nor alarmed. Just a quirky smiled surrounded his face. Signs of nervosity vanished suddenly ,he looked calm more than anyone on thus earth and he finally replied
" l m not the guy who you think I'm"
His tone was strange, coming from a shallow well, enough to out frown on the face of these officer and enough to open doors of analyzing his statement that he us not the guy they think he is.
Officers look bewildered. They wanted to check whether their recording tape was working correctly or not or whether they have turned it on or not. Little droplets of confusion arose on their foreheads and dare not to ask anything without properly giving a thought to Jack's recent statement.
