The Deviate's Phantom System

'Ruin the natural environment and you'll take the living organism out of its natural, healthy habitat. It will desperately accept deviations in its life-or-death struggle to survive. It will become a deviate before it surrenders to extermination...' This, was the advanced idea of Duke Priester—when he was still publicly and generally accepted as the world's most ingenious biotechnologist. And he had 'The Priester Labs' which was one of the greatest and highly ranked infrastructure/laboratory in the world at the time, to his name. Then, fresh out of college as the best graduating student in the whole department and being the only child of extremely wealthy parents, he'd pooled enough resources to build the first ever science lab in Haveiton and the world at large to touch the skies, both figuratively and literally. This very building was the center of attention for the super powers all over the world due to the advanced tech himself and his other employees created and just like that, he became one of the most influential and famous men in the world. Duke's mind worked faster and smarter than most human's. It was a blessing at first, but eventually, it became a curse. His unsurpassed greed fuelled ravenously by the desire for even more fame and glory made him begin to imagine the 'impossible.' And what happens when you begin to imagine a particular thing repeatedly? You swing into action in an attempt to carry it out. This was what Duke Priester did. What did he do? What was the effect it had on the world, including parallel universes? How was he going to atone for his sins? And would he be ready to sacrifice what he loved the most to finally be able to truly say 'I'm free?'

Miraculous Recovery

The young girl who entered was quickly identified by Hall as Venus Ramon, his sister in this world.

Her beauty was so fascinating that upon setting his eyes upon her, he couldn't take it away.

And he would have flashed a genuine smile assuming a certain voice did not say, 'Pervert.'

Venus had woken up at the first crow of the fowl and at once began taking care of the house, as usual—since the past few days Hall was on medication.

She'd swept and mopped the floors and also fed the chicken. She didn't need to worry about cooking as her father had promptly engaged the service of a cook after Hall's accident.

When she was done with her chores, she decided to come see her brother to confirm how he was faring.

She was present when a good-hearted adventurer brought Hall home from the forest behind the house and upon seeing his condition, she nearly collapsed. Although she was just Eight (8) years old, her mind was much older as she could understand even the most complex things and process deep thoughts.

This made her blame herself for not heading out with him that day. She was certain that if she was there, Hall's injury wouldn't have been this severe. What was worse, was the doctor's report after checking up on him.

'There's only a slim chance of survival. We can only fold our arms and hope he lives.' The man had said.

So one could guess how shocked she was when she walked into his room and found Hall's eyes open, staring at her in fascination. She was so surprised that for a few seconds, she stood by the door confused on what expression to display.

At the end, tears flooded out of her eyes and as she ran to the bed and hugged him, although gently for obvious reasons. As she rested her head on his chest and sobbed her heart out, Hall smiled.

'So this is my sister, uh?'

"Hey, you're wetting the bandage with your tears, Venus." He said with a slight chuckle.

"Eh?' Venus raised her head with a slight expression of embarrassment on her face. She'd totally forgotten about the current status of his body. But it was to be expected.

'I'm so sorry, brother Hall."

Hall groaned. As far as he was concerned, that sounded cheesy as fuck.

"Just call me Hall, sis."

Was it her, or did her brother sound more mature? As a matter of fact, the aura flowing out of his body wasn't at all like the usual melancholic one that usually surrounded him.

If anything, this particular aura made her feel like she was in the presence of a mystic being. He couldn't have finally activated an ability...right?

"Y-yes." She said, proceeding to access his body's current state. 'I wonder if I can actually speed up his recovery now that he's awake.'

Venus knelt beside the bed and then placed both her hands on his body. One on the head and the other on his chest.

Due to past experiences, she expected him to fidget as usual, however Hall had a tranquil expression on his face and simply watched her without moving an inch.

A suspicious thought creeped into her mind, but she quickly casted it away as she needed total concentration for what she was about to do.

As for Hall, he knew exactly what Venus wanted to do from previous Hall's memories, and there was no cause for alarm.

Venus closed her eyes and concentrated solely on the pure energy around her. It wasn't very much or rich, but it was enough for what she was going to do.

In a few seconds, a whitish green aura surrounded her palms, and a soothing feeling coursed through Hall's body.

Hall saw the system notification and immediately questioned Ira.

'Hey, what's the Miraculous Aura?'

'The Miraculous Aura has a lot of myths and legends. But they are all wrong. Infact, the real name isn't The Miraculous Aura, but The Aura of Death and Destruction.'

'What?!'

Hall was not terrified by its real name. He was just surprised that once again, he was coming in direct contact with this Aura, however this time it was healing him.

'The irony of life uh?'

This Aura was perhaps one of the greatest things that he could never personally match up to in his previous life. In the hands of a tyrant, the dissolution of the entire world would just be the beginning of anything.

That was the life-and-death scenario that he was just returning from, after managing to cripple the user of the Aura, when he saw that lady and those thugs.

Thank the heavens it was his sister who had the Aura now. As long as she didn't turn evil and cynical, there wouldn't be a problem.

In the meanwhile, he could feel his body getting healthier by the second. The pain reduced at a constant pace and this included the headache. At this rate, in the next few minutes, a 100 percent healing was possible.

However, the door opened even wider and in walked a tall, lanky man. He had a slightly scruffy moustache and his front hair was plaited while the rest was finely packed behind him. His name was Ghara Ramon.

He was the head of the Ramon Family, and presently he had a fearful, yet amazed expression on his face.

"Venus! What are you doing?" He said, gently taking Venus away from Hall.

[HP:5/10]

'Fuck! I knew my luck couldn't be trusted.' Hall lamented.

Ghara Ramon was surprised or rather extremely joyful to see Hall Ramon, his son, alive and seemingly well.

'The gods have favoured me yet again and have brought my son back to me.' He thought, having the urge to go into the small temple in his courtyard and offer his thanksgiving.

But wait...

"Darling, did you do this?" He asked Venus with a sweet voice. If the green aura he saw around her hand was what helped Hall recover this impressively, perhaps it would finally help him(and everyone else) ascertain what exactly her ability was.

Venus shook her head sharply. She didn't know what exactly brought her brother back to life, and she wasn't going to take credit for what she didn't have a hand in.

"Is that so..."

Ghara then proceeded to speak with Hall.

"How are you feeling Hall?"

"I'm good old man." Hall answered immediately.

"O-old man?!" Ghara felt like coughing out blood upon hearing Hall's words. Hall had never called him that before, thus he was forced to draw out a palm-sized mirror from his coat's pocket and quickly began to check his face.

Ghara's action made Hall want to chuckle, which he did now that most of the pain had evaporated, due to Venus' ability.

"Relax old man."

"Uh?" Ghara said, dropping the hand the mirror was in.

"I was not speaking literally. It's just my...nickname for you, which of course I'll be using hereon out."

"I-is that so?" At this moment, Ghara felt like the Hall he was talking to was like a different, much bolder version of him. But, it was a good thing. Maybe this 'accident' was a good thing...but again, he wasn't supposed to be thinking that way.

He turned to Venus. "Let's leave your brother be. I'll call the doctor to check on him asap."

"Un." Venus nodded her head in approval and after waving Hall goodbye, she and Ghara left the room.
