"I needed an example of why messing with me was a bad idea , you simply drew the short straw." nick told the woman before his form flickered and vanished. the woman lay on the ground powerlessly watching as a single mistake of hers rendered all of her sacrifices pointless. the irony of the situation wasn't lost on her since she had intended to take everything from nick and he simply gave her the same curtesy. nick couldn't care less about the existential crisis the woman was going through as he quickly made his way towards the city after replacing his disguise. it was a short trip only taking him a couple of hours since he wasn't pushing his speed to its upper limits. the guards at the gate were confused when they saw nick since they had learned of the group who had been disassembled by nick as well as their intention to ambush everyone out near serpent pass. seeing nick meant that either the group hadn't noticed him or that they had the table flipped on them meaning their death. either way the guards felt the need to inform the sheng clan since that group belonged to one of the largest sects the black bird sect.

The guards reported after nick had entered the city sending a ripple through the upper ranks of the sheng clan since this news involved one of the peak level powers. none of the affected nick however as he quickly made his way to the teleporters and went back to the celestial wind sect just before the teleporters were locked down. the sheng clan could only grit their teeth when they learned how nick slipped away before he could be questioned. the patriarch of the sheng clan who was a member of the black bird sect had no choice but to report the loss of that group of disciples which enraged the upper elders of the sect. this reaction wasn't that strange since it meant that whoever had ended those disciples lives didn't care about the sect behind them. a stronger group of disciples were sent out to discover the truth behind the matter at which point they found the woman whose dantian had been crippled and learned of the events that led to the groups end.
