Another week had passed since my parents sent the message to Riley. The days felt like an eternity, my anticipation growing with each passing moment. Then, one morning, my parents called me into the grand hall. Lucie and Thalia stood side by side, their expressions a mix of excitement and resolve.
"Seraphine," Lucie began, her green eyes sparkling, "we have news. We've been invited to the human castle."
My heart leapt in my chest. "Really? When do we leave?"
Thalia smiled, her red eyes gleaming. "Tomorrow at dawn. It will be a long journey, but we should arrive by evening."
