Chapter 84: Birthday Gift

Recently, the nighttime activities in Hogwarts Castle, under the relentless efforts of caretaker Filch, temporarily disappeared.

Fred and George didn't have the inclination to test Filch's patience either.

Of course, the main reason was that the two of them were simply too busy and couldn't spare enough energy to go night wandering in the middle of the night.

It had been nearly a month since the start of school, and the new students' classes were gradually getting on track. Although there weren't many classes to attend each week, the combined workload of all the subjects actually amounted to quite a bit of homework. Moreover, the two of them also needed to find time to participate in Gryffindor Quidditch training.

There was no way around it. Fred and George's speed in doing homework was far from being as efficient as Albert's, and besides the homework for each subject, they occasionally needed to find time to memorize important theoretical knowledge and practice magic.

Transfiguration was particularly difficult to learn.

Albert's three roommates took a week to completely master the trick of turning matches into needles and passed Professor McGonagall's small test successfully.

Compared to the busy and fulfilling lives of the Weasley brothers, Albert's days were undoubtedly very comfortable.

Albert always managed to complete his weekly homework on time, and memorization never posed a challenge for him. As for practicing magic, he had no issues at all. Even the most difficult subject for first-year students, Transfiguration, didn't trouble Albert.

Since joining the Transfiguration Club, Albert had become even more adept at using Transfiguration.

Last time, right after Professor McGonagall finished teaching the method of turning stones into teacups, Albert only tried a few times before completely mastering it.

Of course, Albert would always claim that he had practiced for several days before learning it.

As for Quidditch training, Albert would also participate in the "training."

"Look, your package." George suddenly said.

Albert looked up and saw an owl flying towards them. Fred and Lee Jordan immediately helped move the food on the table, making space for the owl to land.

"You've worked hard." Albert patted Snow's back and opened the package, finding two thick books inside.

Another gift was securely taped to the package.

Both books were about economics, and it seemed that Grandfather Luke had learned from Herbert that his grandson was interested in finance. So he bought a book titled "Principles of Economics" as a birthday gift. As for the other book, it was undoubtedly purchased by Herbert, and its title was "The Essence of Finance."

Albert didn't pay much attention to the books and shifted his gaze to another square package. After tearing open the wrapping, he found a delicately packaged box inside, containing a small cake.

"Wow, who sent you a cake? It's so cute." Angelina stared at the box in Albert's hand, her eyes brightening.

"It's from home." Albert picked up the card, a happy smile appearing on his lips. In fact, even without specifically looking at the birthday wishes on the card, he could guess what it said. The birthday card was written by Nia, and besides the customary wishes, it emphasized that she also had a hand in making the cake.

"Happy birthday." Shanna immediately understood what was going on and offered her wishes to Albert.

"Thank you." Albert picked up a new set of utensils and cut the chocolate cake in the box into six pieces, sharing them with familiar faces around him.

Birthday wishes echoed in his ears.

It's more fun to celebrate with others.

Anyway, he still had classes to attend later, and it wouldn't be convenient to carry this stuff around. If he put it in his backpack and it got squashed, it would waste the thoughtfulness from home. Besides, the most important thing was that Albert had just finished eating.

"Wow, you're a year older, that's great." George jokingly ate the chocolate cake. "If you were born twenty days earlier, you could have started school a year earlier."

"Yeah," Albert didn't think much of it and casually said, "But starting school a year later isn't bad either."

None of the people present understood the meaning behind his words.

"By the way, are these two books your birthday gifts?" Angelina glanced into the opened package and found two thick books inside. The one on top was titled "Principles of Economics."

"What's wrong with that?" Albert looked at Angelina with confusion.

Angelina felt her mouth twitching and noticed that Albert's gaze was off. For a moment, she didn't know what to say.

Why would someone like him be in Gryffindor?

"Can I take a look?"

"Feel free, just don't damage them." Albert didn't mind others taking a look. After all, they wouldn't understand it anyway, and they wouldn't be interested in it.

As Albert had suspected, Angelina picked up the brand-new "Principles of Economics," flipped through a couple of pages, and immediately felt dizzy. She couldn't understand what was written in it at all.

No, she could understand every word individually, but when put together, it made no sense to her.

"I really don't understand why your family would send you this stuff." George muttered.

"Just out of interest." Albert didn't intend to delve further into it. Instead, he changed the subject. "Don't worry too much, riding a broomstick is easy to pick up."

"Am I the only one who can't ride a broomstick?" Shanna muttered to herself.

"Is the cake not to your liking?" Albert replied with a non sequitur.

"No, it's not that. I actually quite like chocolate cake." Shanna closed "Quidditch Through the Ages" and devoured the cake in front of her.

In reality, Shanna couldn't help but feel nervous. Among the new students in Gryffindor, she might be the only one who couldn't ride a broomstick, and that feeling was awful.
