Chapter 300: Incident in the Girls' Lavatory

"Above, those whose names I called, congratulations for making it to the Sweet Sixteen."

Albert rolled up the parchment and addressed the crowd around him. "The next tournament will take place at the end of next month, just before Easter. If there are any changes to the schedule, we'll inform you in advance."

"Will we be able to determine the champion next month?" someone asked.

"Well... I can't be certain. It will depend on the progress of the matches," Albert clapped his hands, signaling that everyone could disperse and not crowd around.

"When will the new cards be available to the public?"

Many people had their eyes on the Wizarding Cards in Albert's hand. They were far superior to the shoddy cards they held, making them envious.

"The Wizarding Cards are still being improved, and we need time to perfect them," Albert reassured, "I estimate that it will take until next year before they can be introduced on a preliminary basis."

"We have to wait until next year?"

Many people immediately looked disappointed. Most students had limited patience, and the prospect of a prolonged wait was truly agonizing for them.

Albert answered a few more questions and was about to make his exit. He didn't want to be stuck here answering questions, and he didn't have that kind of habit either.

In the corridor, when there was no one around, Lee Jordan gritted his teeth and said, "Who on earth is deliberately causing trouble for us?"

"Marcus McLaggen!" Albert suddenly exclaimed.

"Marcus McLaggen?" Fred and George both furrowed their brows.

"Marcus McLaggen probably figured out that you two were behind the incident last time, so he intentionally used this to get back at us," Albert shared his conjecture with his roommates.

Filch wasn't capable of Occlumency, and there weren't many secrets he could hide from Albert. After getting answers from Albert, it wasn't hard to guess who was behind it. After all, Marcus McLaggen had a pretty good idea of who was responsible for his stomach troubles last time.

"Perhaps we should give him a memorable lesson," Fred said with a dark expression.

"Yes!" Lee Jordan immediately agreed. He absolutely couldn't tolerate someone trying to undermine their accomplishments.

"He'll probably be more cautious around you guys now!" Albert reminded them, "He definitely won't let you catch him easily. Also, even if you get back at him, that guy will probably find another opportunity to cause trouble for you!"

"We're not afraid of challenges," the twins said in unison.

"There's no need to make it so complicated. You can simply use the Confundus Charm on him."

"The Confundus Charm?"

"It's in the book 'Practical Defensive Magic and Its Countermeasures Against the Dark Arts.' It seems like you guys haven't read that book very carefully," Albert sighed, "Well, whatever, I'll take care of it!"

"That sounds fantastic. I can't wait to see that guy get his comeuppance."

"Let me see where that jerk is right now?" Fred chuckled maliciously.

Not long afterward, a sensational event occurred at Hogwarts. Marcus McLaggen attempted to sneak into the girls' lavatory to peep, but he was caught by an older girl. In the end, he didn't get what he wanted.

"Hahaha~ This is hilarious!"

In a cluttered classroom, Fred and George were clutching their stomachs, unable to stop laughing.

Just moments ago, they had witnessed a red-faced Marcus McLaggen being escorted away by Filch.

Albert leaned against a metal cabinet, shaking his head in amusement at the rather wicked display of mirth from his three roommates.

As Marcus McLaggen passed by the entrance to the girls' lavatory, Albert had cast a Confundus Charm on him. What followed was a scene that nearly left them in stitches.

Right after Marcus entered the girls' lavatory, a scream echoed out. They saw Marcus emerge, clutching his face, while a group of girls pursued him, causing chaos throughout the school.

It was said that Marcus McLaggen had been caught red-handed by a senior Hufflepuff girl, preventing him from carrying out his sinister plan.

Albert and his friends, by way of a secret passage, had managed to get ahead of the incident. While pretending to witness the uproar, Albert discreetly lifted the Confundus Charm from Marcus McLaggen.

However, that wasn't the end of it.

Albert had heard that Professor McGonagall was furious. She had given Marcus McLaggen a week of detention and informed his family about the incident.

The next day at noon, a howler echoed through the entire Great Hall. Marcus McLaggen's mother believed he had brought shame to the McLaggen family name.

Fred, George, and Lee Jordan were quite satisfied with the outcome.

Since Marcus McLaggen had played a sneaky trick on them, they naturally felt it was only fair to play one back. It was all part of the give-and-take.

Now, everyone was discussing the incident, and whenever Marcus McLaggen's name came up, it was met with disdain. His actions were viewed with contempt.

Some particularly gossip-hungry students even spread rumors about Marcus McLaggen's other antics. After all, he had become a hot topic of conversation around mealtime.

Fred and George, the two mischievous troublemakers, were currently spreading a rumor, betting with others whether Marcus McLaggen's underwear was actually red.

"I can bet that there's not a single girl at Hogwarts who'd be willing to date Marcus McLaggen now," Filch said, walking over and taking a seat next to Albert, winking, "That guy even tried to argue that he must have been Confunded to accidentally stumble into the girls' lavatory."

"If it were me, I'd probably tell people I was Imperiused," Albert laughed.

"I was there at the time, actually. Marcus McLaggen did look like he was Confunded," Filch said with a peculiar tone.

"Why didn't you tell Professor McGonagall about it then?" Albert curiously asked.

"What's the point of telling Professor McGonagall? I'm quite happy to see that annoying guy get his comeuppance," Filch's tone turned cheerful, "We really should thank whoever pulled that prank on Marcus McLaggen."

"I heard that Professor McGonagall discovered during her investigation that Marcus McLaggen hadn't been Confunded," Albert squinted his eyes, "That's why she was so angry and gave him detention for a week and deducted fifty points. I bet he's going to be at the bottom of the standings this term."

"Who knows," Filch chuckled before walking away.

"Did she find out?" Lee Jordan asked anxiously.

He thought Albert's plan had been executed perfectly, leaving no room for error. Even Professor McGonagall hadn't realized that Marcus McLaggen had been Confunded.

"Who knows," Albert replied nonchalantly, "And what about Fred and George?"

"Those two are currently betting with people on how long it's been since Marcus McLaggen last washed his underwear," Lee Jordan said, rolling his eyes at the thought of Fred and George.
