As Dimitri and Selvo rose from the ground, Blanca tried not to stare too hard at Damian. This was Selvo's friend, the cousin of the prince of the underworld, one of the royalty in the legion of demons. But he was a small person who stood smirking in front of her, in the flesh. He was the only demon she'd ever seen with wings and just as small as a normal person. Besides the dark glow of his skin—and the fact that he was smaller than everyone else—he didn't look much different from the rest of them.
Damian gave her a hard, penetrating look, as though he could see right through her.
Control your thoughts, Blanca. Dimitri chided her silently.
Sorry.
The demons were telepathic. She had to refrain from internal commentary in their presence.
"My apologies, old friend. She is new to our ways. I take full responsibility for any offence she has caused," Dimitri said smoothly.
