The Dark Hearted Prince

The oldest prince of the kingdom Reinthoria was named Dedrin. Ever since he was born, he had only one desire that never changed throughout his entire life. That desire was to become king and possess half of the stone of Sudre. Whoever had the stone was both the king and the most powerful being in the world. However, Dedrin was consumed by darkness and hatred. His desire influenced his life in a way of evil. He had no care other than to be in power, and because of that he became bloodthirsty in battle as a knight. He became so good at fighting and so cruel, that even his own parents feared him and refused him the throne. Dedrin swore revenge after being kicked out of the kingdom, and set out on a mission to regain his throne by attaining the other half of the stone of Sudre. But upon meeting his own other half, he realizes that there is more to life than a crown.

Chapter 83: Capture

*

Theodius continued to hold May as she cried, and he enjoyed every second of it. He had made a love seat appear where they were standing so they could sit down without scaring the sad butterfly away. May spoke softly as she gripped the cloak on his shoulder. "W-Why do I always go after the wrong guys?" Theodius pulled her closer and ran his fingers through her hair.

"Don't worry, darling, it's alright. I'm here now. Anything you want I'll give you. I'm more powerful than anyone." May pulled away, confused. "But, didn't you give the other half of the stone of Sudre to Dedrin?" He smiled and made a green upside-down triangle with part of a symbol on it appear with the wave of his hand. "Well, actually I gave him a third. The stone of Sudre was originally in the shape of a heart together in one piece. The king of Reinthoria and Dedrin have the top rounded pieces, giving the illusion that it's a circle and only has two pieces."

May gasped at the largest piece of the glowing stone. "How did you end up with two pieces of the stone? And why did you give one away?" Theodius raised an eyebrow. "You forget how old I am, don't you? I was there when the stone chose the first king, and I was there when the stone broke when the king died. I was his magical assistant despite being an elf in a kingdom of humans. All the pieces became mine once he passed, at least until his daughter stole one from me and banished me until I would return the rest. Of course, I didn't care since I still had the largest and most powerful part of the stone. I used it to extend my lifespan and once I heard that everyone believed there were only two pieces, I advertised the second just so one day I could see the faces of the royal family once they realized there were three."

Theodius laughed to himself as he made the stone disappear. "Now I can watch it on replay on my crystal anytime I want." May looked down. "So, we went through all that trouble, for a prank?" Theodius lifted her chin with his hand. "Aren't you glad it was? Now Dedrin will never be the most powerful being." May hesitated but her thoughts were stopped by Theodius kissing her. She pulled away with shock. "What are you doing?"

Theodius gave her a mischievous smile. "You poor little heartbroken fairy. If you need a rebound, I will happily comply. I can make you feel so good you'll forget that prince existed." May was about to pull away further when he grabbed her shoulders. "Stay with me. Let me taste you." May gasped in fear and wiggled out of his grip. She flew away to the end of the room and turned to him with nervousness. "Theodius, that isn't what I want right now."

Theodius shook his head. "I don't care. It's what I want. But, if you're shy about it, how about we play another game? If you can escape this castle I'll let you go, but if I catch you before then you'll have to sleep with me and be my prisoner forever." May shook in terror. "What?!" Theodius laughed. "I'll give you a ten-second head start. Ten, nine, eight..." May started to panic and she quickly flew down the hallway next to her.

"Six, five... Well, would you look at that? I lost count. I guess I'd better start the chase. Hahaha." Theodius then stood up and disappeared into blue flames. May hurried down the hall while looking for some form of exit. However, every window she saw would seal shut as soon as she approached it, and every door would close and lock once she reached for it. Her breath became short the longer this went on, and she moved on down the staircase into the main room where the front doors were.

She hurried to the doors, hoping that they wouldn't seal as soon as she got to them. Suddenly, Theodius appeared standing in front of them and he grabbed her as she tried to stop. "Ah!" She struggled but he held onto her tight. He walked over to the wall next to the stairs and pressed her back against it. "Well, that didn't last long. I win. You're mine." May continued to struggle and freed one of her arms.

She then tried to punch him but he grabbed her fist mid-swing. She was fearful at his strength and Theodius chuckled. "Now honey, you wouldn't want to make me mad now, would you?" May wasn't struggling anymore and was shaking instead. She didn't respond and Theodius leaned in to kiss her again. He pressed his body against hers and May didn't know what to do.

In the next moment, they both heard a scream from outside. "THEODIUS!!!!" Theodius pulled away with confusion and May became surprised. "Dedrin?"

Saniel had flown twice as fast as before and we had gotten there in less than an hour. I was glad that Theodius's castle wasn't far from Reinthoria and that Saniel understood how important it was that I got there as soon as possible. As soon as I saw his castle; which was much smaller than the one I just came from, I screamed Theodius's name in anger. I didn't wait until we fully landed before jumping off of Saniel's back and onto the ground before the entrance.

I then punched the doors open, making them swing apart and slam against the walls on either side. I walked in and stopped with shock to see Theodius holding May against the wall inside. As much as I was pissed after seeing them like that, my heart soared from seeing that May was really alive. Before Theodius could acknowledge me I ran up to him and punched him hard in the face. "AH!"

He flew back onto the stone floor and I turned to May. I was about to hug her when she punched me in the face as well. "Ah!" I stumbled back and rubbed my cheek. "What was that for?!" She crossed her arms and held an angry face toward me even though she was crying. "What are you doing here, liar?!" I felt panicked all of a sudden. "May, whatever he told you about me was a lie!"

May continued to glare up at me. "So, you didn't plan on killing your family and declaring war with the stone?" I hesitated. "Okay, one thing he told you wasn't a lie." She then pushed me away by the chest. "I can't believe you! You used me!" I hurried, trying to think of what to tell her. "I'm so sorry! It started out that way but something changed! I don't want to be king anymore! I'm just so happy you're alive!"

May raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that? Didn't you mean to kill me?" I shook my head. "No! I uh! I don't know! I'm cursed! But the uncursed part of me would never dream of hurting you!" May turned away from me. "Well, you did! What are you even doing here?! You got what you wanted! What else could you possibly take from me?!" I felt horrible, remembering the last time we spoke and how I had broken her heart. "May, I-" Suddenly, Theodius shot a beam of magic at me, casting me into the other wall. "AH!"
