Key to everyone's freedom

"I'm a Hunter," muttered Aurora with a smirk

"A Hunter? What are you getting at?" inquired Harvey.

"That would be for another time, but we have to keep an eye on the Magistrate. Have you heard from Aurelian?" asked Aurora, diverting the discussion.

"I know what you are doing, Davison. Don't you dare divert the discussion? What are you saying?" Mumbled Harvey with knitted brows.

"The death at the frozen valley is something that needs our prompt attention. The case might be covered as something else," muttered Aurora.

"Find out about it and report to me," said Harvey before he stood onto his feet.

"Aurelian?" asked Aurora.

"Still not back,' said Harvey before he left the council for the palace.

At the castle, Otis was sitting with the King, working on paperwork.

"We should take a break," uttered the King before he stood to his feet. "I'll be back."

King Hardin left his study room and went in search of his wife. He met them in the garden and joined them, they discussed before he left them and went back to his study room where he had a lot of work to do. When he got back there, he met Harvey who felt so tired from the journey.

"Go take a rest, I have to discuss something with you," said Hardin as he took his seat. Harvey did what he was told, he went to take a nap.

After five hours, Harvey woke up before he went outside his room. It was evening already and as he walked in the corridors of the palace, he came across Moon. She stood in front of the Royal portrait, staring at it intensely before she averted her gaze and looked in his direction.

He walked up to her and smiled before he placed his hand on her hair. She didn't hit it away and made it stay for some time.

"You aren't staying away from me?" asked Harvey with a grin.

"I am trying to tolerate you," said Moon. "And don't touch my hair without my permission," muttered Moon before she slapped his hand away.

He laughed. Harvey laughed before he spoke, "I know you hate me. I know you don't want this marriage but you have to bear with it."

"Bear with it?" inquired Moon with a scoff.

"Yes. I want this marriage and…"

"You want this marriage? Why? So you could use me just like everyone else wants to? So I could save you from your curse? I'm just the key to everyone's freedom. I'm the key to a better life," said Moon as she cried.

"Moon," called Harvey but was interrupted by Moon who held her hand up to stop him from talking.

"Do not say anything, I get it. I do get it, I'm the key, I do not deserve to live my own life, I was born to serve everyone," said Moon, hiccupping.

"No. You weren't born to serve people. You were born to save people, you were born to save us all, we are your people and you are our god," uttered Harvey as he took her hands in his.

"Stop trying to make me feel better," said Moon as she tried to pull her hands out of his grip, but Harvey held tightly.

"I'm stating facts, Moon. We all rely on you because you are the reason we are picturing a bright future. A future where you save us from calamity," said Harvey before he pulls her into his arm.

He couldn't believe this was the way she had pictured why they needed her. She was the only one who save them, she was the earthly god the God in heaven had sent to them when they thought he had forgotten them. She was the one they all put their future with, even though it was a huge burden.

The responsibility she was facing and was going to face was too much for her. She did go tired and they'd understand.

Harvey carried her in bridal style before he took her to his chamber. He met his Mother when he was heading to his room and she gave him a teasing smile.

He placed her on his bed and went to take a cold towel to wipe her tears. Moon sat and didn't say anything, she watched him as he cleaned her face. She was too weak to say anything, she wasn't the type to speak what was on her mind and she only did that to those she was close with or those who offends her.

Harvey went to the door and asked for their dinner to be served in his room. He took a chair and sat across her, staring at her intensely. They both sat there without saying and just stared at each other.

Harvey decided to break the silence and said, "If you are feeling uncomfortable, I can take you to your room."

Moon sighed tiredly, she looked at him and smiled, shocking Harvey. "Right now, we are friends. The ones who met at the lake, Harvin, and Moon," muttered Moon solemnly.

Harvey smiled, his smile was so wide that one did wonder if his lips weren't going to tear. "Ok." He replied. The door was opened in a rush manner, showing the Queen who had a worried expression on her face.

"What's wrong?" she asked as she rushed to Moon's side, checking her.

"Nothing is wrong, Mama," said Moon with a small smile. She was starting to miss her own Mama. The care her Mama render her, even with all the scolding. She missed her and her Papa and as she saw the Queen asking her what was wrong, she burst into tears after she answered.

Certainly, there wasn't anything wrong with her, she didn't even know who had told the Queen that something was wrong with her even though she was fine completely.

"Nothing and you are crying?" said the Queen as she patted her back lovingly.

Harvey looked at his Mother who was glaring at him as she patted Moon, he raised his brows at her and frowned at her face before she smirked
