"There seems to be a misunderstanding.... this isn't a request. A noblewoman is willing to eat and spend a night here. The least you could do is make her visit bearable. Or are you trying to be disrespectful and actually get punished?"
"!!!"
Medea asked without letting go of the waitress's hand and letting her fall back on the floor and watching as her shoulders started trembling when she finally started to realize the reality she was in.
"Hey there, buddy. It's a clear misunderstanding, so why don't we all calm down."
Amongst the guests, there were various people – for example, lumberjacks and the largest one from their table stood up and approached Medea, putting his hand on the much shorter black-haired man's shoulder.
Whether it was intentional or not, the large lumberjack ended up flicking Medea's earring, and the yellow marble at its end swung around, tapping against the black-haired man's jaw.
"...~"
Medea didn't say a thing and merely glanced at the towering man next to him with the same friendly smile.
"...!"
This time around, though, the lumberjack was in a spot from where he could catch a glimpse of the black-haired man's eyes, and all of a sudden, his confidence wavered.
"Oh well~"
Luckily, it sounded as if Medea was going to follow the advice and step back – he even tilted his head while shrugging his shoulders...
*crack* *ZAP*
...but it turned out that the gesture was merely used for crushing the yellow marble, unleashing the paralysis spell...
Medea was spared from the paralysis thanks to his protection charm, so the spell just spread around, searching for other targets.
"GHHH...!"
The lumberjack, whose large body tensed up, causing his clothes to get close to bursting apart because of the sheer muscle mass, let out a short gasp before his jaws locked, and he started losing balance, unable to correct his.
"...?!"
Zorivia had the other half of the Paralysis protection charm, so even while still holding onto Medea, she was spared from the spell, but she still was stunned, speechless, watching the towering commoner become petrified.
"Timber~"
Medea chuckled as he shook his shoulder, and the unwanted interference ended up falling back like a tree under the axe.
*THUMP*
The lumberjack's body, now tense as a rock, produced a fittingly loud sound that caused the fallen man's companions to stand up from their seats.
They all stood up, but none of them actually left their table.
"Ah~! At least someone knows some manners."
"???"
Medea hummed, turning towards the group and lightly bowing his head with the friendly smile still brightening his face – which caused a great deal of confusion among the men who were intending to go help out their companion but lost the guts halfway.
"My lady, although I can't assure you that it's the best table in the inn, those commoners did offer it with their genuine feelings."
"...eh...?"
The black-haired man turned around and bowed his head deeply towards the surprised noble lady who looked between him and the group of standing lumberjacks with faces filled with confusion.
"Of course, if it's not up to your standards, this servant will..."
"N-no...! I appreciate the offer, but they haven't finished their food and..."
Medea twitched theatrically and lowered his head even more, sounding apologetic, which easily ticked everyone in the in with the Zorivia at the forefront, making her gasp nervously and reach out her hands towards her assistant as if she wanted to grab onto his clothes.
"This servant understands! My lady, your great benevolence can match up only to your beauty."
"...!"
Medea declared, making Zorivia blush, and only then he straightened his back, turning back to the extremely bewildered lumberjacks.
"Here."
The black-haired man rummaged through his pocket and took out something that he gently lobbed through the air toward the foremost lumberjack.
The speed of the throw allowed basically everyone to see the object flying through the air.
It was...
A big silver coin!
"!!!" *THUD*
The lumberjack the coin was thrown jumped forward with as much desperation as if the big silver was his newborn child, tripped on the bench he was previously sitting in but still managed to catch his target before tumbling on the floor all the way to his fallen paralyzed comrade.
"It's compensation for the food and a little something as a bonus for your eagerness to show respect to young Miss Zorivia Rotteloss."
"...!"
Medea nodded his head approvingly towards the man who caught the coin as the lad was staring at the wealth in his hands.
"Remember to share it evenly amongst everyone who decided to offer their table... except for him."
The black-haired man said in a kind voice that grew colder as he pointed at the paralyzed man next to the one with the coin.
"You may go now, but take the rude one with you. His lack of manners is unpleasant."
Medea added as the group of lumberjacks was still processing what was exactly going on.
It took a second... two... three...
"IT'S A PLEASURE TO BE OF USE TO YOUNG LADY ZORIVIA ROTTELOSS! Lads, what are you waiting for?! We're taking that rude bastard and leaving!"
The lumberjack with the coin jumped up and bowed down, bending his back at a hundred-degree angle before shouting at his comrades, urging his comrades to move while kicking the large man still under the effect of the paralysis spell in the side as if he was a piece of trash.
"Y-yes! We hope you will have a good time here, young Miss!"
"...?"
After the callout, the rest of their group caught on fast and hurriedly picked up the paralyzed one, dragging him away while continuously bowing their heads towards Zorivia, standing there in shock.
"Now then..."
*whoosh*
Medea nodded his head again, looking towards the emptied table and opening his mouth when a waitress zoomed past his and began violently cleaning it up in preparation.
The one who got slapped was still mopping on the floor in a mess caused by the broken dishes – it was another girl who sprung into action, noticing the potential pattern and deciding to act upon it.
"Young Lady! Here!"
The new waitress, with a face flushed from haste and arms trembling from the weight of the combined plates and mugs, she decided to carry in one go, exclaimed while making an attempt to curtsy, and pointed at the spot she wiped so hard it changed color.
