The End of the Challenge

The fight continues soon after, Mor's skills were improving by the second. His dancing skills become better as even just looking in a specific direction will cause the skeletons to shake and lose balance.

As arrows rain from the sky every so often, he would break them apart with a QI charge sword attack. He will block the Monkey punches and [Star Fall] with his [Fine Steel Sword]. Sometimes he would grab a spear, using it to cause large cracks in the earth and explosions. During this time that weird ability will manifest at random.

It only seems to happen when he was holding a sword and focusing deeply on an enemy. The shorter the distance the less QI it will take, he felt like this ability had no limits, as long as he had QI he should be able to attack enemy one in his field of view. He likes using this ability the most when fighting at close range.

As the effect of the pills decreases, he stretches out every inch of his body, from his QI to the number of wounds he would take. As long he continues to take down as many skeletons as possible, it will be ok. But even then, he uses a total of 100 pills to supply his battle.

Soon a whole day went by, Mors fought with nothing in his system other than QI and adrenaline. During this brutal fight, his main two martial arts increase by 2 ranks, while his bow martial arts only increased by one. With so many enemies around him, he did not have enough time too many times.

Thanks to constant fighting, his rank went from 6 to 8. But as the sun slowly rises up, painting the sky in orange and signaling a new day. Mors stood on top of the Celestial Monkey. A skeleton sword deep in the Monkey Heart. During this long battle, his [Fine Steel Sword] broke into pieces, forcing Mors to fight using the skeleton's swords and spears. Around the monkey lay the dead skeletons. Their service has come to an end.

"Celestial Monkey, I pass your challenge. So, tell me am I strong enough now?"

The monkey coughs up some blood as a monstrous smile appears on its face.

"Ha….I must say, you grew a lot in this one fight. Your skills are a lot better and you have gained enlightenment. The look in your eyes...They do….feel similar…"

The Monkey said its final words as life escapes its body. A gust of wind picks up some fallen leaves and dirt. Mors looked at this gust of wind as it slowly ascended towards the sky. He and the monkey did not speak a lot when fighting, he has no strong feelings towards it. But still, he could not help but wish for a happy afterlife for the monkey.

"go back to your old master monkey…thanks for the help"

Mors said as he falls off the monkey's dead body and into the ground. He was down for the count, drifting to peaceful sleep. His once nice leather armor was broken and hanging by thin treads. His body was full of wounds, but slowly healing thanks to the effect of the pills. Even if he sleeps in the middle of the forest, no monster will ever attack him. Mors has become the ruler of the forest. No monster will be stupid enough to even look his way. Without him knowing, the system notifications went off.

The city of Quhai is a nice and peaceful city founded by an ancient clan. The clan name has long seen been lost to history and the current rulers had no interest in looking for the origins of the city. The city of 50,000 people was very busy.

In 2 months, the main attraction of the city will happen, 'The foundation tournament'. A tournament for young cultivators of the Warrior Stage, with great rewards, and famous clans and sects attending it, it was Quhai city's main selling point. People wanted to see the fights between cultivators and maybe attract the attention of a cultivator.

Everyone had the potential for cultivation, the only reason why not everyone was a cultivator was simple. Cultivators need a lot of resources, from martial arts to treasures, it was too much for the normal people to afford and cared about. As such the most they could wish is for a cultivator to take an inters in them and supported them in their journey to immortality. The city of Quhai was busy as people sell items and talk.

A lot of the rooms of inns already becoming reserved by clans and sects for their young cultivators. But as the city prepared itself, the sound of alarms echoes in the large city. An attack was happening! To the normal people frightened, monsters from the Rotten Grove appear in waves as they started to attack the city. Thankfully they have only ranked 1-4 mortal stage monsters.

Enough for the cultivators of the ruling clans that made this city their home to killed them. This caused a large increase in monsters' part on the market. While the monsters were weak, their parts were still valuable. Their fur, bones, meat, and claws are all sold in mass. It will not be long till monster-crafted equipment appears on the market.

In one of the many blacksmith shops of this city, an old man was looking around for something. He was throwing weapon after weapon behind him, his body halfway inside of a wooden box. As the man took out the final sword and climb out of the box, he opens his mouth as a loud scream escape his dry lips.

"Fang!!!! Get your sorry ass over here!!!"

A few seconds later puffing and out of breath young man enter through the door. He was average-looking, with messy black hair. His face was darker than the rest of his body, it seems that this man works closely with fire. In fact, the old man had a similar face complexion.

"yes, father?"

"You fucking piece of shit! What happens to my [Fine Steel Sword]?! Do you know how hard I work on that!? I was planning on selling it during the tournament and now it's fucking gone!"

The old man said as he walks towards the young man and grab him by the collar of his shirt. He continues to scream his saliva hitting the young man's face.

"What the fuck did you do with my sword!?"

Across town, in a richer part of the city. A large pill store was having a similar problem. For 100 of their [Earth] pills had disappeared, this cause chaos in the store as the workers try their best to find the missing pills and find a way to explain this to their master. Truly what a peaceful city, that even after a monster attack, they can worry about such small problems.

There you go, when I get home I will post some more chapters.

see you later~
