Kiss on the Cheek

Time flew by and Wales got to the age for primary school, Shae waited for him everyday to come home for lunch since he'd bring her snacks. And she missed the adventures with Wales.

Soon enough, Shae reached the age for school as well. There was only one primary school in town. Therefore Shae went to the same school as Wales, several grades apart. Primary school was boring compared to chasing butterflies and catching dragonfly using a spider web.

One morning Shae was late to school. She was reprimended in front of the whole class. It was deeply embarrassing and humiliating. During the lunch break break, she went to the swings at the corner of the school and kept sobbing quietly. Away from the other girls who she normally hang out with.

Someone tapped on her shoulder and turned her around. He is way taller than her. Facing the bright sun, golden lights outline the shape of his face while shadows prevent Shae from seeing him clearly. Confused and next thing she realizes, he leans down and kisses her softly on the cheek. That was the first ever kiss Shae got from a guy. Even not necessarily in a romantic sense. Despite her growing up with a group of boys, Shae had never had any physical touch with anyone and did not know what just happened. She was so shocked that she froze after the kiss. On the contrary, he quickly ran away and rejoined his boy gang, leaving Shae stunned at the same spot, pink lips open slightly..."Wales..." she mumbles to herself, looking at his figure getting smaller...and smaller...
