Who Will Be The King Now?

It has been a few weeks ever since the whole country mourn for His Majesty. As for today, shocking news was all over their national tv. It was the news about the king's murderer. Before this, the death for the previous King was kept private and confidential. But now, the Royals couldn't keep it as a secret anymore and they decided to be transparent towards their citizen. They decided to tell them the truth about how His Majesty died.

"The King's death wasn't a coincidence due to his sickness but His Majesty was killed by someone who came from a noble family. The Royal Police investigation has found a CCTV in front of the King's chamber showing that someone has entered his room as an evidence." Said the announcer in the news.

"Oh my god, so someone murdered the King?!" said one of the customers in the café. The CCTV video was shown on the news and most of the people were watching it. From the video, it is true that someone has entered the King's chamber but his face couldn't be seen clearly. "Have they found who entered the King's chamber?" asked one of the man in the café towards his friend.

"Once the investigation has been made by the Royal Police, Oliver Miles who is the son of Sir Miles Vincent was caught red handed in the CCTV as His Highness, Prince Lucas has given some explanation saying that Oliver Miles has disguised himself as a doctor and poisoned His Majesty's iv drip while he was sleeping. Due to this, the court has come towards a decision the Oliver Miles will be sentenced to jail for a lifetime." Said the announcer.

Once the citizen has known that the King's has been murdered by Oliver, most of the citizens started to become a keyboard warrior posting hates comments on his social media, some of them even exposing his bad behaviour towards other students in the university. He has been cancelled by the citizens. Most of the citizen has showed their empathy towards the Royal on the King's death.

Meanwhile, when the news came out just now, Ren was in his study room watching the news and reading the comments from the citizen. He felt so satisfied that he could reveal the truth behind his father's death. While he was scrolling his ipad reading the social media posts, he saw a few video of Lily and Oliver's in their faculty and read the comments.

"Isn't that the Crown Prince's fiancée?"

"Oh my god, she knows Oliver Miles?!"

"Wait, they used to date, am I right?"

"Augustin," called Ren and Augustin went near his table. "Please delete all videos and comments related to Lily. I saw few comments and videos of her and Oliver Miles. I do not want people to hate her because she knows Oliver Miles. She shouldn't be involve in this at all." Ordered Ren.

"Alright Your Highness. I'll get someone to do that." Bowed Augustin. "Your Highness, you have meeting with the Ministers later after lunch." Said Augustin. "Yes I remember, Thank you for reminding me." Said Ren and Augustin bowed before he leaves.

Once Augustin left his study room, Ren leaned against his chair and let out a heavy sigh. *I'm guessing the meeting later they wanted to decide who will be the King now* thought Ren as he closed his eyes feeling tired with all of this.

Later that noon, most of the minister including Lucas was waiting for the Crown Prince to arrive. While waiting, most of them were discussing about the topic that they would argue later. Some of them wanted Ren to be the King, while some of them refused to. Lucas who was there just listened to them in silence.

While they were talking, Ren has finally entered the meeting room followed by Augustin behind him. The ministers including Lucas stands up and bowed slightly to give some respect towards him. He was dressed in his dark blue Royal suit and walking towards his seat and once Ren took his seat, all of them took their seats too. As for Augustin, he was standing next to Ren to assists him.

"Forgive me for being late as I have things that need to be settle with just now." Said Ren "now, as we all know the reason we're having a meeting today is because ever since the King's death, we have no King at the moment. So we are all here to discuss this issue." Explained Ren. "if there's any arguments that you would like to say, please say it now and we all can discuss together." Said Ren.

"Your Highness," called one of the minister. He was the minister of trade and industry. "I suggest that Your Highness The Crown Prince Ren Nicholas would stay as the Crown prince and once you're married you can betrothed as the King." Said the minister of trade and industry.

But before Ren could say anything, one of them has objected the suggestion. "I object!" he was the minister of finance. "How can the crown prince be the king when he has no father anymore and he is too young to be our ruler he can't just simply got betrothed as the king. He have other distant relatives such as Sir Luis?" suggested ministers of Finance.

At the mentioned of 'Sir Luis' name, both Ren and Lucas ears perked up and know where this suggestion is going to be. Lucas who was sitting down there, give a look at Ren understanding the current situation. "Yeah, Sir Luis have more experience and older than the current crown prince. Therefore, he suits to be the King." Stated Ministers of Trade and Industry.

"Why would he betrothed as the king when the Crown Prince has a fiancée? He's getting married so he has all the right to be the future king." Said Lucas as he stands up looking at the ministers who currently wanted Sir Luis to be the King. *I'm sure they are all paid to say this.* thought Lucas.

"Your Highness, then why did you step down to be the future king before when our previous King has left us?" questioned Minister of Finance. "You want to know the reason why I step down?" asked Lucas as he brought himself forward towards the table and placed his hands on the table looking at all the ministers. "Your Highness Crown Prince," called Lucas as he turned his back, looked up looking at Ren who sitting on his chair a bit higher than his. "May I?" said Lucas asking for his permission.

"Yes, you may." Answered Ren as he nodded. Then, Lucas begin to tell them the reason why he had to step down being the future King before.

"The reason why I stepped down being the King before is that, I have no partner at the moment. My partner had died in a car accident right after we got back from our study." Explained Lucas. He was trying to hold his tears remembering how he held Rose's lifeless body in his embrace.

"I was appointed to betrothed as the King as the late previous Queen which is my mother told me to be engaged with my partner once I graduated. However," paused Lucas for a while. "She left me first and we couldn't get engaged. Therefore, I step down and let Crown Prince Ren's father which is my uncle, to be appointed as the King." Explained Lucas.

"I hope all the ministers could finally understand the reason why I step down being the King." Added Lucas. "But currently, I see no problem for our Crown Prince Ren to be our future King. He has someone that she loves, they are both engaged. I see no problem for them to get married and let them be the future King and Queen kingdom of Stella." Said Lucas firmly making an eye contact at all of the ministers.

"That's all and thank you Your Highness." Bowed Lucas before he took a seat. Once Ren had done talking, the hall was pin drop silence. "Alright, is there any objection on what Prince Lucas had just said?" asked Ren but it was silence with no answer. Ren could see some of the Ministers are still doubting making their own decision after what Ren just said. Therefore, he had come out his own conclusion.

"I believe that some of you are still thinking, doubting and not knowing what to decide." Said Ren as he place his hands on his table and brought his hands together looking at each of the Ministers that attended the meeting today. It was a big decision and it's a very serious thing. To be a king, is not easy. He needs to be the leader, a protector and many more in order to have a peaceful kingdom.

"Therefore, I haven't come out with a conclusion yet. We will continue with this meeting and I'll let Augustin to inform you when our next meeting will be." Added Ren. "For the time being, there are no King but," said Ren as he paused for a while and stands up. "I, Crown Prince Ren Nicholas Leonardo will rule the country together with the Queen and that's final." Said Ren firmly. "Does everyone have my word?" asked Ren with his deep voice looking at each every one of them in the hall showing how powerful he is and no one can bring him down.

"Understood Your Highness." Bowed all the ministers together.

Some of them might be happy, while some of them might not with what Ren just said. "Thank you for coming for today's meeting, we shall meet again soon." Added Ren as he left the meeting hall followed by Augustin from behind with Lucas tagging them along.
