Chapter fifty four : a slap in the face

Heaven Alizah Dianne's pov : 

After shopping with Angel. I laid on my bed for a while, trying to foresee the future, my future. Usually, I can't control this ability of mine. So at anytime an event that will occur in the future could just pop up in my head. But l have never been able to look into my future. 

After several failed attempts, l went outside to for a walk. All the maids bowed to me as l passed. l ignored them, l believe with time l'll get used to that .When l got to the terrace of the second part of the palace, l stopped there. I closed my eyes and savour the feeling of fresh breeze on my body. It really cools my head down. 

"Heaven is that you?" I heard a feminine voice. I looked back to see who it is. It was Stephenie.  "Hi Stephenie" l said .

"Hi Heaven. I mean, your majesty" she said. The both of us laughed.  "The announcement hasn't been made yet" l said. 

"Only two more hours to go, and then you will be announced as the queen" .

I sighed. I don't why l feel kind of nervous.  "I understand, feeling nervous aren't you?" She said.  I nodded 

"Come let's take a walk together" she said. The both of us walked into a garden in the palace, this garden is very big. But I've never seen it before. Just how many garden does this palace have. 

Stephenie and l walked through the paths.  "Look Heaven, it's normal to be nervous. But ehen you are in front of the people, you will have to hide it. Especially when you are facing the elders" her face turned serious when she mentioned them.  "The elders are very bossy. They've been hoping for a weak queen so that they could intimidate her just like the previous queen before Queen Lisa. So don't show any sign of fear when you are with them. Don't let them intimidate you" she said. I chuckled lightly.  Like there is any one who can intimidate me. 

"You don't have to worry about that. If you know what l've been through you wouldn't  be telling me this. If you have been through as much as what l've been through, you won't feel a shit of fear. As for the elders, l don't think handling a bunch of oldies is going to be difficult" l said with confidence. She smiled. "Now that's what l like to hear". 

We got the part of the garden where there are lot of maids taking care of it. There is a huge lotus pond in the middle of the garden, and there's a long bridge over it, to cross it. It's really lovely.

We walked over the bridge. But then Stephenie suddenly stopped and stared at the lotus pond. 

  "Is there something wrong?" I asked. She shook her meaning no. 

"This is where me and Xavier first met. So l'm attached to this garden especially the lotus pond". Her face was full of smiles. 

"You know what Stephenie, I really envy you. You have such a wonderful mate" l said honestly. 

"The king can be wonderful too. Don't worry, you'll get him to him better very soon" she said. Unfortunately, l don't think what she is saying is true. 

Then suddenly, l felt a strange and powerful aura coming towards us. I looked at the direction it was coming from and l saw a middle aged woman coming towards us with angry yet graceful steps. She has four maids following her.

Stephenie is still remembering her good times with her mate, she didn't notice. I tapped her shoulder and she looked at me. Before l could say anything, her eyes widen when she saw the woman. She is literally trembling. Who is she?. 

"Greetings elder Saffron " she quickly bowed. Oh l see, she is one of the elders. And from her aura, she must be one of the  most powerful ones. If l were any other demon, l would be intimidated too. 

"Keep your greetings to yourself" she said scornfully. It was then l noticed that all the maids had stopped what they are doing. They are visibly shaking too. I wonder how monstrous this elder is for her to make them tremble like that. 

"I've been standing over there for a while now. And you didn't bother to come and greet me. So why are you greeting me now?" She said scornfully.  "I..l'm sorry. I..l didn't know" Stephenie stammered. 

The elder scoffed, "you didn't know. Are you trying to say that my power and aura are too weak for you to sense, right?. Do you really think l'm a fool" she spouted venomously. Stephenie quickly went down on her knees. "Elder it's really not like that" she said in a shaky voice.  The woman laughed dryly.  "Then how is it like?. You must think that just because you are Xavier's mate you don't need to respect the elders anymore right?.  Maids, slap her fifty times" she yelled. And the maids with her marched forward. 

"Don't you dare" l shouted and they all halted. I grabbed Stephenie's arm and make her stand up. 

"Oh, you must be king's new mistress. I'll like to see if you are bold enough" she said in a calm yet dangerous tone, her eyes even flashed blue. I was about challenge her back but Stephenie held me back. "Heaven, this doesn't involve you" she said worryly. Look at someone who said l need to be bold in front of the elders just now. I guess it's hard to practice what you preach. 

The elder stepped forward until she was standing right in front of me. "Do you think that just because you are his majesty's new bed mate, you can challenge me. You slut, who do you think you are?. Your parents must have taught you nothing at all, for you to give yourself so cheaply to a man. How dare you, an ordinary slut like you looking at me eye to eye. I can have you sold to a brothel, then we'll see..." Before she could finish her last statement, l threw a hot slap across her face. And it's not an ordinary slap. Irene made it so that it would suppress half of her powers without her even knowing or feeling any signs of  discomfort. She almost fall down because of the impact. But her maids were quick to hold her. 

"My lady are you okay" they said. But she pushed them away, "shut up you are all useless" she yelled. Before she could turn to me completely, l landed another powerful surprise slap. Someone has to put these elders in their place. 

The second slap suppressed the remaining half of her power.  "You bitch, l'm gonna kill you" she yelled and tried to charge at me. Before she could make another move, another slap made its way on her cheeks. It was then she realized that her powers are being suppressed. She looked at me with both terrified and shocked eyes." Stephenie quicky stood in between us. "Please stop this both of you". She turned to the elder. "Elder please leave Heaven out of this" she said pleadingly 

"You...you how?. What did you do?. I see now you trying to rebel. Some one arrest them now." She shouted like crazy. 

"What's going on?" We heard a voice. It was Nora's mate, commander of the silver knights of the palace. 

"Good thing you are here general. These two here are rebeling. Arrest them now" she yelled. 

"Elder, I'm sorry but the ceremony is about to begin. How about this you ladies should take her back to her room." He pointed at her maids. 

She glared at him, "general are you commanding me. Are joining the rebelion" she said.  "I'm just a servant for his majesty. I served only him and no one else" he said. 

"Fine then. Don't worry slut l will make you pay for this" she said before leaving. 

"Hey don't worry, l'll say that l was the one that hit her. I'm already on her bad side." Stephenie said. 

"Are you nuts?. You can't take the blame for something l did. Plus, l'm the king's mate, no one will punish me" l said. 

"Hey you are right. Why didn't l think of that?" She said. 

"Because you are too nervous. Anyway, thanks for the walk and your accompany. I need to go and start getting ready now" l said. 

"I'll go too. I need to get ready for the official announcement. By the ways those were nice slaps" she said . And l winked.
