Chapter 15

Susan was frantic. How could she have possibly offended anyone, just hours after arriving the country. She had not even spent twenty-four hours in America, yet trouble had caught up with her already?

"I hate my damn life" she muttered.

"You what?" Susan's godmother asked her. Susan had gone so deep in thought, to the extent that she forgot that her godmother was still on the call, asking to know whose toes Susan had stepped on.

"But I just got here. How on earth could I have stepped on any toes? I have not even met anyone apart from..." Susan was saying when she suddenly remembered the man at Joey"s party.

"Wait, godmother, can you please explain how your CEO looks?" She yelped. Her godmother felt small relief to know that Susan had started to recall an event. She knew that Richard"s decision was not an ordinary one, and something must have happened concerning Susan which he was aware of, but she just could not draw up a connection yet.
