Beauty Queen.

''What did you say?''

''She went on a date?''

''Prince Vincent did what?''

''How can he be with an ugly girl like her?''

''Are they dating?''

''Since when?''

''What of Lacy?''

''Did Lacy lie about their relationship?''

''Oh my god…''

''I was there. Prince Vincent didn't even look at her.''

''So she's lying.''

*Murmur* *Murmur*

As Calla walked through the hallway of lockers, she sensed a difference in the stares thrown on her figure. Curiosity and Envy were most of what she deciphered from the stares. Unlike the disgust she normally she received on a daily basis, she hardly sensed any from her course mates.

Upon getting to her destination, Calla ignored the stares drilling holes on her figure and unlocked her locker. While getting her textbooks and books for the academic periods of the day, she noticed a drop in the murmurs behind her.

Not putting much attention to the oddity, she assumed her course mates finally lost interest in staring at herself and moved on to their various classes. A bit satisfied with that, Calla carried her textbooks with one hand and shut the locker with the other. Turning around, expecting to just quietly moved on without any disturbance, her eyes suddenly came in contact with a pair of fuming eyes.

It wasn't just one pair, but three pairs of furious eyes.

Without giving her time to react to their sudden presence, the weight on her hands suddenly became lighter, thanks to one of them purposefully slamming the textbooks to the ground. A proud smirk then settled on the lady's lips like she did nothing wrong.

''…..'' Okay? Calla was a bit lost why this suddenly happened to her, more specifically her textbooks.

Despite her inner confusion, Calla's face was blank and she merely lowered her body down to pick up her books. Taking her time, she dusted the non-existent dirt off the covers and arranged the textbooks back on her arm before standing upright. The ladies still remained in her front, all glimmer and beautiful as before. The only difference was that the middle one seemed to be saying something. The others by her side were the same as well.

Calla could only hear little fragments of their voices because of the relaxing song playing in her ears. Once she removed the ear piece, many voices began to flow in her ears more clearly than before, especially the familiar ladies fuming in her front.

''She's ignoring us.''

''She purposely did this. Using music or whatever to block us out, what a rude person.''

''Hey freak! Lacy is Prince Vincent's girlfriend. Why are you being a mistress in their relationship?"

''With a face like that, I am surprised she managed to catch Prince Vincent's interest.''

While the side ladies chattered many insults in her face, Calla paid no heed to them as her main problem was the middle lady resentfully glaring at her.

Lacy Allens.

A lady crowned by her many of her course mates as the department's beauty queen. Someone also rumored to be in a relationship with Vincent.

''Where did you and my prince go?'' Lacy narrowed her eyes on Calla, a look of repugnance and hatred flashed past her eyes.

'If it weren't for this masked freak…..' Fury boiled in her heart. If it weren't for the fact that people were watching, she would have lost herself and vented her anger.

Lacy recalled how many laughed secretly behind her back on that day. She could imagine how they rebuked her for being a liar and an arrogant young missy like herself could never accept such. When rumors talked about her and Vincent, she proudly accepted them as they were true facts.

She and Vincent were perfectly made for each other, and no one else.

Yet, that perfect image had to be tainted, and it was someone who couldn't even reach half of her beauty.

Since that humiliating day, Lacy swore in her heart to make Calla's life in the university a living hell.

''Can't you hear me? Where did you and my prince go?'' Lacy repeated a little louder. Her choice of words almost made Calla's eyebrow to arch.

My prince?

''….I don't see how that's any of your business, Lacy.'' Calla replied back in a soft tone.

No wonder the students were looking at her a bit differently, and Lacy was giving her a killer-stare, different from the smug stares that she always received in the past.

All this was just about Vincent and herself. Calla somewhat expected this since the social standing between her and Vincent in the university was quite different.

''Ha!'' Lacy's beautiful face distorted with a scoff. Not her business? Her prince was definitely her business, because he was hers from the first moment she laid her eyes on him!

''…...'' Calla took a step backward, just to be safe from this unsteady woman. She knew her words would be definitely provoking, but it was the plain truth.

Her outing with Vincent was no one's business, including Lacy. The fact that Vincent ignored Lacy on that day proved there was no rumored intimate relationship or sort between them.

On that day, her eyes were sharp to catch the non-existent interaction between Vincent and Lacy. From beginning to the end, Vincent only had his eyes on herself and no one, not even Lacy.

''How dare you!''

''Our Lacy is Prince Vincent's girlfriend.''

''You are nothing but a mistress in their relationship!''

''How….''

''Girls.'' A word from Lacy silenced the side ladies supporting her. She then took a quick deep breath and plastered a smile on her lips to the ladies on her sides. ''Let's go. We will be late for class.''

Rather than tarnishing her reputation even further, she would deal with this masked freak her own way without lifting a finger.

Before turning around, Lacy didn't forget to send a warning glare to Calla. Flicking her hair, her pointy heels clicked loudly as she strutted away with her side ladies, her head up high, looking proud as if nothing happened between herself and calla just now.

The spectating students who were waiting for a good show to happen were disappointed that nothing went on as they expected. They eventually began to move on with their day. True to Lacy's words, the bell rang, signaling the start of the academic periods of the day. The ringing sound hastened their steps to their first class of the day.

Meanwhile, Calla was left alone, standing in front of her locker. Her gaze lowered to her text books as many passed her by without a word. No one glanced at her. No one offered any concerns. The murmurs from the beginning were no more, as the focus now was to be early for class.

Calla didn't feel anything about the lack of care from others. In a way, the students' behavior and Lacy's resembled the manner of the high society. When the strong bullied the weak, the strong was always right no matter what, and the weak was left alone without help.

In the past, she had never experienced such physically from others because of her family's name and her twin sister. But….it was a different story on the mental side.

'Well…I hope Lacy doesn't take things too far…' Calla sighed, tucking the white wire of her earpiece into the pockets of her hoodie. Hoisting her textbooks in her arms, she furthered her steps to her first class of the day.

The fact that she offended Lacy with her words meant her future days in the university wouldn't be so good.

After all, Lacy was her biggest bully in the university.

****

''Ugh..''

''Sorry, I didn't see you there.''

''Might as well get a thorough makeover.''

''Can she even afford clothes? She's always repeating that hoodie.''

''No wonder she smells weird.''

''That's so gross. She should work in a garbage company.''

''Lacy, your father can write a recommendation for her.''

''Yeah right.''

*giggle* *giggle*

''…..''

'I guess my wish did not come true.' Calla thought, slowing down her pace to distance herself from the chattering ladies. It was noon time already, and a perfect time for lunch.

As for her morning, it was plainly horrible.

The episode just now with Lacy and her group of friends was a testimony to that.

'Thank goodness, it's the weekend tomorrow.' Thinking about going to her apartment to play Kayla and her puppies, Calla's mood elevated into a happy one on her way to the cafeteria.

*murmur*

*murmur*

As always, the noontime in the department's cafeteria was the nosiest. Some students would be done for the day and some would have probably skipped class.

''I can't believe she and Lacy came here.''

''I bet something will go on.''

''I can't wait!'' The eyes of some students were sharp to catch the sight of Lacy and Calla walking into the busy and noisy cafeteria.

'People are really nosy.' Calla felt annoyed. She was on her way to a secluded table after getting her food from the kitchen staffs.

*Flinch*

Before Calla knew it, something cold slipped through her hoodie and touched her skin, flowing down her body.

''Here, have a can of soda. It will wash away that nasty scent off you.''

''You're wrong. It's her mistress's scent.''

''Haha….''

''…...'' The same as before, Calla had no reaction when faced with such mistreatment. She just lowered her head to the tray in her hands and accepted the harassment until it was over.

''You should have answered Miss Lacy when she asked you kindly.''

'Miss Lacy? So they must be the followers.' Calla came to a realization. Lacy Allen had two loyal friends, always by her side. They weren't ones who would address Lacy as Miss Lacy, meaning that these people around her were probably Lacy's blind followers.

Despite Lacy's arrogant young missy attitude, she had followers who wanted to be in her circle. To these students who never experienced real wealthy life, they probably looked up to Lacy as a wealthy person, since she did come from a well-off family.

However, if Calla were to compare Lacy's family wealth to her own family's wealth, it couldn't just be compared as Lacy's family wealth couldn't even reach a drop of hers. She speculated this from what she heard about Lacy's family from the rumors.

If it were to be her husband's, the kings' family….No…Calla just knew that nothing couldn't even be compared. If her husband wanted to ruin a family like that, it would be as easy as squashing a bug underneath his shoes.

''Miss Lacy was nice to you, but you took her kindness for granted. This is just a warning of what is to come in the future if you don't leave Prince Vincent alone.'' Calla's ear twitched as the clicking heels distancing from her, and she instantly knew that the bullying was over for now.

''Yeah right.'' A faint scoff escaped her lips. In the midst of laughter and murmurs, Calla continued her steps to a secluded area in the cafeteria.

For Lacy to leave her alone was highly impossible. Even if she had answered the latter's question, the bullying would not cease to exist, because of Vincent.

That fact that she was with Vincent was probably seen as an unforgivable crime in Lacy's eyes.
