44 Gossip

As soon as October arrived in front of the company building, she was immediately swarmed by a lot of cameras flashing and questions from people from different medias. Thankfully, the guards of the company immediately acted up and formed a human barricade around October to assist her in entering the building.

Pausing for a moment as soon as she got inside and turned around to see the people outside who was trying to get passed the guards but to no avail, she looked at them indifferently and thanked the guards who assisted her. As expected, they were waiting for her here even if she arrived earlier than her usual time. Hopefully, they'll get tired and go home by the end of the day. It was also a good thing that it was already Friday. She just needs to quickly finish her work today to avoid any unnecessary trouble later.

With that, she turned her heels and made her way toward her elevator. Like usual, she was greeted by the employees. Just that when she was already far from them and was in the elevator, whispers immediately erupted from them like buzzing bees. It was a gossip that included men and women.

No matter, October already expected this too and so shrugged it off as if the one they are gossiping about was not her at all.

"Hey, is it true that our director is pregnant?" Lady A asked as she nudged the person next to her.

"No idea. You do know that the media sometimes make false news just to make the headlines, just to sell." Lady B said as she shook her head, not believing it at all.

"But that scandal was true." Man A squeezed into their circle to gossip. "Also, our director really is the eldest daughter of Park Real Estate."

Lady B snorted. "You sure are convinced about it."

"Really? Oh my gosh!" Lady A gasped making Lady B roll her eyes.

"Yeah. But on the news last night, apparently, there were two guys who claimed that they were the father of the baby." Man A added with a smirk on his face.

"Yes, I saw that on the news." Lady A gasped again as she covered her mouth with her hands and looked around to see if someone heard her then crouched again to whisper, "So do you know who really was the father?"

"Well, I'm not sure but according to someone I know from the restaurant, the 1st guy was good looking but acts like a punk, a total scumbag as what he said. The 2nd guy...he was not able to see his face because the man was surrounded by his bodyguards when he entered the restaurant."

Lady B raised an eyebrow in interest while Lady A nodded her head with excitement. "The 2nd guy, what was he like?"

At the heat of their gossip, they suddenly heard a loud dry cough beside them startling them. They turned around to only see Yun Xixi looking at them with a furious gaze. Clearly, she heard their conversation. Just that, they don't know how much she heard from their hushed talk.

"Se-secretary Yun."

Placing a hand on her hip and giving off a dark and heavy atmosphere to put pressure on them, she said with a really loud voice making it reverberate in the wide reception area of the first floor, "If you all have a lot of time to stop and gossip, why not do your work properly? Or is it that your work has been so easy lately that you have a lot of spare time to talk? If so, I'll immediately arrange some work for you. Hmph!" Yun Xixi harrumphed and ruthlessly gave a them a piece of her mind and made her way on the elevator to go to the Assistant Director's Office.

The three gossiping people turned to white stones as they realized what they had just done. They know all too well that Secretary Yun, being the person who idolizes her boss as if she were her god, will definitely do as what she just said.

Nobody in this company underestimates secretaries. Why? Because secretaries have to deal with a lot of the transactions relating to their boss and the company and so will undoubtedly be able to make connections herself with the higher ups. And Secretary Yun is one that was the most capable and the most resourceful secretary that have a lot of connection within and without the company premises.

They just had to gossip in the hallway. Such a thing...

Even though they regret it, they can do nothing about it now. They just have to resign on their fates and accept their punishment. Its better like this than to be fired, right?

With this, the trio lifelessly went into their own working stations and silently started their work with a gloom on their faces.

Because of this incident, no one openly gossiped about it in case someone will hear them talking and be reported to someone to give them a pile of work to do. Such a thing, they don't want to do.

At this time, Yun Xixi was stomping her feet as she made her way on her desk and flopped down. Of course, she saw the news last night but she just believe it. It was just a baseless rumor...right?

Yun Xixi scratched her head in annoyance and pouted while glaring on her computer.

Suddenly, her telephone rang. Hearing this, Yun Xixi waited for the 3rd ring and answered, "Office of Assistant Director Park, how can I help you?"

"Hello." A mans voice sounded making Yun Xixi frown but still remained professional.

"What can I do for you sir?" She politely asked.

"Can you please connect this to your director? My young master would like to talk to her." The man asked politely but Yun Xix's frowned deepened.

What the heck?! Did he dialed the wrong number? She looked at the caller ID but it was not saved.

"May I know who's calling?" She asked as she tapped a finger on her desk.

"Ah, yes. This is Assistant Yu. Can you please connect this call to your director? It's just an emergency."

Assistant Yu? Who the heck is this?

"For a moment, please." Even though she was really reluctant and suspicious of this caller, she still have to do what a secretary needed to do. She hold the line and pressed a button and said, "Good morning, Director. There's an emergency call for you from...Assistant Yu."

"...Okay. Connect him to me." October replied after a long pause.

Yun Xixi raised her eyebrow and thought that this was weird but still connected it. After that, she put back the telephone and started working on some files on her table.

"My wife." A cold voice boomed on October's ears making her body shake and her heart to shudder.

October took a deep breath to calm herself while unconsciously tucking a nonexistent hair behind her ear and curtly replied, "Mm. What's the emergency?"

Hearing such a question, Lexus let out a chuckle as he leaned on his chair and said, "I want to hear your voice. That's the emergency."
