"Doreen, let me explain..."
April started to say.
"No need for explanations, just go."
Doreen had another cold reply.
April sighed then nodded to Dane. She would not push to explain anymore.
Dane started the beetle and then drove out of the basement parking.
April remained silent, feeling the guilt for taking part in worrying Doreen about Joshy. However, she felt confused at the same time about the way Doreen had acted toward her. She had never seen Doreen like this before toward her. She felt sad about this, but she knew this was not the time to add more worries for Doreen. She decided to just let Doreen cool off from her angered state.
April understood where Doreen was coming from. A mother's love had no limits. It could make a mother behave irrationally at times for the love of her child.
April had a silent wish that she could have at least had that chance as well... to protect her own baby.
