We Found The Girl

"What are you doing there?" A burly man shouted when he saw a young girl squatting at the back of his car. The sky had turn dark as Elena ran towards another car. The man frowned and scoff "sick bitch," he cursed and got into his car.

Elena held the wallet tightly as she peek her head to check if the men whom were chasing her were around. When she saw the street was clear with few people, she ran out from the garage and mixed herself among the few people. Though she knew what she had done was wrong, that was the only way she have been living almost all her life. Being extra cautious, her head hung low so she won't be recognized quickly. Heading to a quiet neighborhood, she walk towards an old house. She quietly sat at the backyard and draped an old blanket on her body to prevent the chilling cold of the night. She shakily opened the wallet and saw a large amount of money inside, the content including an ATM, driver license and a passport that was put into the wallet for identification.

She have slept for few hours when a bright light suddenly came into her vision. Shielding her eyes from the radiating light she heard a masculine voice.

"There she is. Bring her to boss," the voice yelled angrily.

"Yes." The other two men chorus and step towards her.

Feeling their strong arms on her shoulder, she struggled to leave their grip on her but they were extremely strong, finally, she give up struggling and followed the men as they drag her across the road.

"Boss, we found the girl." Dan said proudly as he point at the girl who was tightly held by his men.

Darren stare at the girl quietly as if contemplating what to do with her. Though it was night, he was able to see her clearly. She look no less than twenty years old. Just like that, he knew she was a homeless beggar.

"Dan, take the wallet and give her the money," he said.

Dan frowned and obeyed his boss. After removing the money, he gave it to the girl but she wasn't even looking at him. Her eyes were focused on the man who was sitting on the copilot seat. The door was opened so she was able to see him clearly.

"Young girl, take the money," Dan managed to calm down and said in a less aggressive manner.

Elena didn't care if the man beside her was talking, all her attention was focused on the man inside the car.

Dan sighed In exasperation. "Boss, she's not taking the money."

Darren then turn to the people outside the car and saw the girl looking at him. "Where did you find her?"

"One of the old houses. It seems she lives outside the house," Dan explained carefully.

"We found her sleeping outside the house," one of the man added as he felt pity for the girl.

Darren stare at the girl as their gaze met. Elena felt her cheek heat up, clumsily, she brought down her head. "Take her back," he said and shut the door.

After taking Elena back to the neighborhood, the men got into their cars and were ready to leave but the car Dan and their boss were taking, haven't moved.

Dan look at Darren before peeking his head out of the window. He sat straight and shook his head while Darren was staring at the figure outside the car.

"Why is she back?, What does she want?" Dan half shouted and look at his boss for help. "If you had been careful, we won't be in this mess right now," Darren fired at him before unlocking the door. He step out of the car and walk to the girl who was standing quietly, he wondered why she haven't say a word.

"What do you want?" Darren ask the moment he came to stand at her front. Elena shook her head and pressed her lips together nervously.

"Should I take you back to where you live?" Elena quickly shook her head and point at herself before pointing at him.

Darren understood what she was trying to say and tilt his head in amusement. "You want to follow me?" He ask with a smirk on his lips.

Elena nodded and showed him her bag. It was a kitten bag pack and furry. She was ready to go with him, not even caring to know who he is.

"Why do want to go with me?"

She shook her head again. "Nothing?" He was amused by her thinking. "Will you leave after that?"

Elena was slow to reply but she still nodded.

"Okay," Darren finally agreed. Before he could tell her to follow him, she brush passed him in excitement.

Dan was shock when he saw his boss unlocking the rear door for the girl. After Elena got into the back seat, Darren sat on the copilot seat.

"Boss, are we bringing her with us?" He ask in disbelief. "Yes. Inform the house we have a guest," Darren said deliberately ignoring the confused look on his assistant's face.

"But boss..."

"Dan drive now. You are the one who put all of us in this mess, your punishment for now is... You'll be her temporary bodyguard from now on till she leaves, is that clear," Darren said coldly.

"Ye... Yes." Dan swallowed and imagine himself following the dumb girl.

Elena listen to them as the car rolled smoothly on the road. She kept looking at the young man's back and his side profile. Darren lift his eyes and saw the girl looking at him through the rear mirror. She look down quickly while biting her lips, she didn't know why but she felt attracted to the man. Darren smirk making Dan almost lost his hold on the steering wheel. The car wavered a little before returning to its smooth riding.

'Why was his boss having that smirk on his face?' Dan thought.
