An Unexpected Hug

"But I'm not ready to have...," Darren was interrupted by his mother.

"You must get ready Darren! Oh, how silly of me not to remember. The Clark's daughter is here," she smiled sweetly and gestured for a servant to bring the guest.

Darren's expression softened but he wasn't happy his parents were forcing him to get married. No woman had caught his fancy, except the little dumb girl in his mansion. Darren smiled to himself as he thought about the little woman. The voice of a young lady brought him back to reality.

A young girl with braided brown hair and small face rush down the staircase excitedly. She had been waiting for him to visit so she could have a talk with him and also try to build their relationship as friends.

"Easy Vivian, don't trip in excitement," Dinah said with a small smile on her lips. Darren look at the girl who came to sit beside him, she have grown prettier than the last time he saw her few months ago.

"Darren how have you been? It's been long since I last saw you," she said sweetly.

Darren smiled and patted her head. "See you soon Vivian, " he said and stood up about to leave.

Vivian didn't like this. Darren was always happy each time they meet and he always cares for her but today, he wasn't friendly towards her.

Dinah wasn't satisfied with what her son was doing. "Darren why not take Vivian for a walk."

Darren halt "Vivian knows this place so there's no need to walk her around when she could certainly do it herself. I thought I said I'd see her soon, "he said and step out of the house.

Vivian turn red out of embarrassment. She smiled awkwardly at the couple, " don't worry much about me, I think Darren is busy, " she said in a low voice.

Mr. Hamilton stood up and left for his room, leaving his wife and the guest she brought. Dinah's expression turned apologetic as she gaze at the beautiful lady.

" Don't bother yourself about his blunt remark. That boy is something, will you like to attend a dinner party with me? " She ask to convince the young lady. This was the type of daughter-in-law she wanted and would also fit for Darren, besides they're childhood friends.

Vivian hesitate nervously, " okay aunty if you say so. "

Dinah smiled and sip her wine graciously. "Good!"

Darren head straight to his mansion. Because of Elena, he didn't go to Maple Inc and instead handed everything to his personal assistant. He thoughts were in a complete mess after what his parent said.

The reason Vivian was there was because his mother thought he would agree with her if he sees Vivian. They're childhood friends but that doesn't mean he had anything with her. As for his father, the man didn't care if he gets married or not, as far as the Hamilton group is doing great.

The car came to a halt inside his mansion. He step out and threw his key at one of the guards outside.

The living room was filled with the sound of video game playing on the large screen. Sitting on the couch were Dan and Kyle as they press hard on their controller. Even when they saw their boss, they didn't bother to stop because no one wanted to loose to the other.

Darren didn't mind the brothers and simply ascend the staircase to check up on Elena. Soon Dan came running with a big grin on his face, he won his elder brother, how couldn't he be happy.

"Boss, I saw her sobbing quietly after you left," said Dan.

Darren nodded and gestured for him to leave. Dan was happy he didn't get scolded by his boss and skip down the stairs to challenge his brother with another video game.

Elena lay quietly on her bed, her black long hair was sprawling on the pillow. Darren came to her front and saw the girl blinking her little eyes. He sat on the space close to her and asked "You cried?" The moment he sat on the bed, Elena sat up and embraced him.

Darren still in shock. His heartbeat increased it's speed and his eyes widen in surprise. He didn't push her away like how he does to other ladies who threw themselves at him. Elena then sat comfortably in his lap, she buried her face on the dip of his neck and her hands around his body.

Darren pat her head gently and then pushed her hair away from her chest to her back. He rest his chin on her head, he wouldn't believe this was the girl he brought home last night.

"Dan said you cried?" He ask.

Elena nod her head and tighten her hold on him.

"Why did you cry? Because of your family?" She nods again. He smiled and exhaled. "Don't worry, you might meet them someday."

" Why did you hug me?"

Elena was slow to react. She gaze up at him for the briefest moment and quickly move away from him but Darren was faster. He pulled her back and tighten his hold on her.

"I'm not going to hurt you," he said and rub her back like a mother cuddling her child. Elena nod her head as she felt his hard chest, a light blush appeared on her face. It was her first time being treated with care.

She didn't mean to hug him, it was just her instinct and he didn't push her away like how others did to her, despite him being aware of her dirty life.

They stayed like that for a long time and watch the sun set through the window. The air around them was serene and peaceful which was interrupted by the butler.

Though he was not young anymore, a light blush grazed his cheeks when he saw his master cuddling the young lady.

"Master, dinner is served," he informed and was about leaving when Darren's commanding voice stopped him.

"Bring the dishes here. I don't want anyone blushing while I feed her," He said nonchalantly. Even Elena blushed at his words and same to the butler.

"Yes master," he said before leaving the room.
