Chapter 22: Miraculous Donation

The news about the hospital receiving an enormous donation spread like wildfire. Sarah didn’t know if it was coincidental or not, but the doctor informed her that a few urgent surgeries were going to be done with no charge for the patient, since the hospital board allowed them to use a share of the money from the donation.

She didn’t want to interrogate the doctor about it, but she couldn’t believe how lucky she and Nana were. Mrs. Johnson was on the list of the patients who were going to be assisted, and Sarah cried her eyes out when she heard about it.

“Nana, can you believe it? You’re finally going to be better,” she said, hugging her grandmother cautiously.

The old woman was still lying on the bed, unable to make big moves since there were a lot of wires and medical tools attached to her arm and chest.

She smiled at Sarah and squeezed her hand in a sign of gratitude. She was still very weak and the doctor asked her not to do any effort and especially not to speak.
