Tek Knight. He who comes to rule.
God.
That's a topic I rarely find myself considering.
I would say religion is subjective; it's a compendium of values and beliefs. I've never worshipped a deity just for the sake of it.
Since waking up as a baby in this world, I find myself leaning more and more towards atheism. If there were a God, I'd expect to be greeted by a fiery pit of pain and agony rather than a man in a three-piece suit.
"We are here, sir." Elijah kindly informed as the car slowly came to a halt.
I sighed as I stepped out of the vehicle, a fake smile adorning my face to play the part.
The tall structure stood mightily, with crosses adorned on all its towers, the glass panels featuring multiple hues, and the wide-open wooden doors leading into the cathedral.
"Robby!" Mrs.Kim squealed as she walked out of the cathedral and saw me.
The Kim couple owns a supermarket right across from the cathedral, and my parents are major donors to the establishment.
People pay attention to wealthy folks doing charitable stuff, so my parents make sure we have a few trips each week to portray ourselves as a good, God-loving American family.
Arthur believes this will help when I have my hero debut.
I giggled and slow-jogged towards her, my senses automatically observing every inch of her in an instant.
The smell of rosemary and jasmine hit me strongly.
My eyes noticed the minor details: her plushy cheeks, beads of sweat from physical work, but no signs of dust or dirt on her hands, which was odd.
There was a fading handprint around her neck, her lips flapped at minute intervals, she has been fucked.
Her toes were curled, her nails dug against the palm, signs of frustration.
She didn't finish.
"Hi Mrs.Kim." I said as I stood close to her.
"Robby, how long has it been since I saw this cute little face?" Her lips curled up as she knelt down to my level and ruffled my hair.
I chuckled, playing the cute little kid she thought I was.
"Where are your folks?" She asked, noticing Elijah making his way towards us.
"They're at home." I smiled. "But I asked Elijah to take me to the church."
"Oh, did you now?!" She smiled. "Hello, Mr. Elijah."
"Mrs.Kim." He gave a slight bow in accordance.
"Fine, Robby, I will see you next time." She stood and dusted off her skirt.
"Goodbye, Mrs.Kim." I said, walking past her and into the building, Elijah closely following behind me this time.
"She sounds sweet, sir." He said as we walked towards the altar.
"She just fucked somebody here." I nonchalantly replied and continued.
It's easy to get fooled by an innocent exterior, but every human has a disgusting interior hidden away through layers.
"Robert." I heard for the second time today, somebody calling my name. This voice, however, was more familiar.
"Father Charles." I smiled as he walked towards us.
The smell of rosemary and jasmine again.
His left leg had a little drag, and his hand size matched the print.
He was smiling with his eyes squinted. He was happy.
He must have come inside her once or twice. Charles must be Mr.Minute.
Who could have guessed? Definitely not Mrs.Kim.
Mr.Kim, you have been made.
"How are you?" I asked.
"I'm great, thanks for asking." He replied, but his eyes were not looking at me. They were pointed towards the entrance, searching for Arthur or Elena.
"Uh, where is your father?" I internally groaned at that question.
"Mom and Dad are back home. They were busy with work, but I came here with Elijah." I said, not letting my internal thoughts influence my words.
"Of course, Robert, you are most welcome." His smile turned fake. "Mr. Elijah, once you get back, can you inform Mr. Vernon to call me?"
Elijah arched his brows but nodded. "Sure, what is this about?"
"The church is a bit low on funds for this year's Christmas." He said without an ounce of embarrassment.
I know that's bullshit. With how much Arthur spends on this place, they could run Christmas for three years. Guess somebody's getting greedy.
"Yes, no problem." Elijah nodded.
Charles nodded back and left us.
I spent the next hour or so doing idiotic kid stuff, playing with the birds on the lawn, climbing up the floors, checking the rooms.
And just as I expected, Elijah's phone rang. He spent a good amount of time speaking before he approached me.
"Sir, we need to get back home. They have arrived."
"Marvellous."
—-----
As soon as we came close to the mansion, I noticed about three police vehicles outside the entrance.
Officers were moving in and out of the mansion.
The car came to a halt, Elijah and I stepped out. An officer immediately marched towards us.
"Are you Elijah Wealthhigh?" He asked.
"Yes, sir, that's me." Elijah nodded, his brows furrowed with concern and confusion. "Can you please tell me what happened?"
The officer gave me a look as I stepped out and gestured to Elijah to move closer, but that didn't help him as I heard everything.
"Mr. and Mrs.Vernon are dead." He said.
My lips slowly curled upwards.
Elijah blinked for a moment before he understood what the officer said. "What? I beg your pardon?"
"They have been shot, along with Mr.Scott Jakel. We found a locker busted open in the study room."
Whose contents are safely placed in the cave.
"Oh my god." Elijah covered his mouth as his eyes darted around before they landed on me.
Elijah gave me saddened eyes while I looked at the police questioningly. Truth to be told, Elijah was a better actor than I thought.
—-------
"Arghhhhh!!"
Arthur yelled as the bullet pierced into his thigh. He fell, whining like a bitch, holding his leg.
"Fuck you! Fuck!" He kept thrashing around.
Guess for a guy who likes to inflict pain, taking it isn't necessarily working out in his favour.
Nearby lay the now-cold body of Scott Jakel, Arthur's most recent partner.
Truthfully, I had no reason to kill him other than the fact he was here.
Wrong place, wrong time. If anyone, he should blame himself for his bad taste in men and timing.
"Mmmpfff!" Elena yelled, but the gag around her mouth muffled her words.
Elijah made sure to tie her properly to the chair; we couldn't have her running off while we dealt with the scumbag.
"The screams." I whispered as I lowered the pistol. "How much I wanted to hear them, you have no idea."
"What the fuck are you doing?! What the fuck do you want?!"
I sighed, leaning against Elena as she struggled to get free.
"Nothing you can give me." I clapped my hands. "Elijah."
The butler walked into the room adjusting his gloves. Arthur's eyes widened as he thought he figured out what happened.
"You fucking black bitch nigger!" Arthur screamed at the top of his lungs while Elijah watched with a haughty smile. "You turned him against me! You fucking ruined everything!"
"Elijah, if you would do the honours." I smiled and passed the pistol to him.
Elijah slowly reached for it, his hands shaking, clearly nervous. This was everything he ever wanted, and now, it was in his hands. He held the pistol and pointed it at Arthur, tears streaming down his face, smiling as he watched the man wither in pain.
"For all the pain you caused."
Bang!
Arthur's body hit the ground with a thud. His eyes lost their light, and his fingers stopped twitching. Elijah's legs gave out, and he knelt down, crying silently. I patted his shoulder, knowing the work wasn't finished yet.
Taking the gun from his hands, I moved closer to Elena, who was panicking as I placed it on her forehead. I slowly removed the gag to let her speak.
"Rob baby, whatever he told you, they were lies." She glared at Elijah as she muttered. "I love you, honey. You are not going to kill Mommy, right? I love you, baby, please don't do this-."
I smirked, watching her plead.
"Sorry, Elena." I clicked my tongue and broke her pleadings. "You are right, I can let you go but-."
Her eyes widened just as much as my smile did.
"-This just makes a better origin story."
Bang!
