I sat in the great hall with my fist curled into a ball.

Dumbledore talked about the Triwizard Tournament and the schools came in.

"Finally, please welcome our newest student to the sixth year, Jamie Grief"

Just like when I was greeted last year, the hall turned to him in silence. "Slytherin!" The hat yelled before it touched his head. He grinned and made his way over to sit next to me.

"Alright Malfoy?"

"Fine"

"Nasty bite. I wonder what did that" he said, a smirk on his face. " I remember you being much nicer at her house"

"Oh just you wait. I'm meaner than her, and that's saying something"

"Jamie stop being horrible" I sighed.

I looked down the table to see some girls gawping at him. "Stop drooling over my brother or I'll snap your necks" I growled. They frowned and looked away. "You stay out of that fucking tournament Jamie"

" I wasn't planning on trying. Getting hurt in that will be nothing compared to what you'll do" he smirked. "Which reminds me, did she tell you how old she is?"

"She said she was thirteen?"

"Technically she is-"

"Shut up Jamie. Only he and his goons know. And the twins"

"He's one too?" Pansy frowned. "Yep"

"Listen Draco, all I'm going to tell you for the minute is that I'm adopted. And that I've been alive for longer than Andrew"

He frowned at me before I looked down the table again.

"Why do people keep staring?"

"Because he's hot- I mean uh" Pansy stuttered. "Thank you" Jamie smirked.

"Bed time please everyone" Dumbledore said.

I sighed and stood up and left alongside Draco and Jamie. Draco stopped me and frowned when everyone else turned a corner.

"Okay I'll explain now. Yes I'm fourteen, I change my age on the 1st on January every year. But I've been alive for 200- no wait, now it would be 201 years"

"But you're still fourteen?"

"Yep"

"So how old is he?"

"Well uh. Technically he's older than me, he's adopted as well but he has the same power as me. He's sixteen now but he's been a vampire and been alive for 199 years"

"So he's both older and younger than you?"

"Exactly"

"Ok... why didn't you just say that before?"

"I didn't want to freak you out"

"Go on ahead Malfoy, I need to talk to my sister"

He waited until he was gone and turned to me with a frown. "Do you like him?"

"Yeah he's a good friend, as bratty as he acts"

"No kara. Do you like, like him?"

I frowned up at him and looked down. "Yes" I sighed. "Kara if you go through with your task it won't just be him who gets hurt"

"I know"

"Please say you won't act on it?"

"No of course I won't. How stupid do you think I am?"

"Good"

"What if he asks me?" I said as he went to walk on. "Then, I guess it's ok. But please don't get your hopes up Kara. It's happened before and I can't see you hurt like that again".

"Ok"

He smiled at me and put one arm over my shoulder to make me walk. "That's one hell of a bite mark you left him with. And I must say I see why you like his blood it smells amazing"

"Keep away"

"I'm not messing with your food. Relax"

"That's not why I'm friends with him, Jay"

"I know. You don't use people Kara, that's one of the best things about you"

"Please try not to kill anyone"

"I won't. I brought blood with me"

"Good"

We walked into the common room and I looked at Draco as he prodded at his neck. "Kara I think it's infected"

"Let me fix it"

I walked up to him and did my spell, relieving him of the pain. "Thanks" he grumbled and sat down.

Jamie frowned at us as I sat down next to him before walking away and leaving us alone.

"I'm sorry abou-"

"Do you want to go to the Yule ball?" He frowned. "Uh- what?"

"With me?"

"Ok" I smiled. "Ok?"

"Yes. Yes I will"

He looked like he had a genuine smile when he looked away. "I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow" I smiled. "Yeah" He nodded as i got up and i went and laid with my eyes closed until i fell asleep"

(Dream)

I was dragged into a room filled with death eaters, my body weak as i looked around the table. "Now, she'll be good use to us. Being what she is" Voldemort snarled. "But as we all know there is only one person who can keep her held back. Unfortunately, we don't know who that person is. So we'll have to resort to this" He growled before people came at me with chains and a metal barred mask. "No" I snarled trying to get my arms away from the death eaters holding them.

"Get off!" I yelled as the mask was forced onto my face. They managed to strap it on, the strap being leather covering chain. "GET OFF!" I shouted, flinging one of them across the room and then the other.

I threw one after the other across the room as they tried to put chains around me, until one came up that i couldn't stop. He grabbed my arms with a frown and mouthed 'i'm sorry' before tightening his grip. I lashed around but was unable to move. "Please don't" I sobbed.

Chains were put around me like a harness quite tight and then enchanted to withstand my strength. "You don't know do you boy?" Voldemort frowned. "What?"

"Why she was at Hogwarts, why she is friends with you, well, more than friends. For two years and she still hasn't told you?"

"Told me what?"

"She's using you, Draco. She has a task to take you to bed and then break your heart" He grinned. Draco frowned down at me, he was angry, i could feel it by the tightness of his grip on my arm. "Ah so you don't. Sorry, have i just ruined your plans?"

"No, actually you haven't" i smirked before it faded again.

"And how's that?"

"Because i was never going to"

"But you have a punishment for not completing it"

"It's not a punishment you ugly piece of shit, it's death. I'd rather die a slow and painful death than do that task"

"Draco, take her down to the dungeons and attach the chains to a wall. We would have just kept her prisoner but we know you'd just feed her. And make her drink this when you have" He said, holding out a bottle.

He nodded, took the bottle and dragged me down to the stone room and clipped the chains to a wall before stepping back and frowning at me. "Why did you lie?"

"I'm a vampire why do you think?"

He just shook his head and walked up to me. He put the small bottle to my mouth and i drank it, falling to the ground in pain immediately after and my mouth leaking bubbles. He frowned and watched my eye whites go black and the monster get released.

"You actually did it. Good boy" Voldemort nodded when he came down. I stood up and leaned in the corner. "Test the chains"

Draco frowned and took the knife from Voldemort's hand. He rolled his sleeve up and dragged the point down his forearm. As soon as the smell hit my nose i jolted toward him but was held back by the chains. Draco didn't flinch which surprised Voldemort. "Feel free to have a talk with her, she is your girlfriend after all, or is she?" He smirked before walking out.

"What the fuck, Kara?"

"What?" I said as i sat in the corner. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because i didn't need to"

"Kara! It's a lie that went on for three years! Of course you fucking need to"

"Holy shit Draco, why is it such a big deal? I may have lied but i pretty much lost everything for you"

"What, what did you lose?"

"What did i lose!?" I shouted as i stood up in anger. "I left my family who wanted to kill you! I lost my brother for you! We watched him die because he made me choose to keep you alive! He was the only family member who EVER gave me a choice and i lost him! Every thing i lost or did WAS FOR YOU! So get over it Draco! I'm not acting on the task and i never will! So if you're not going to get over a stupid little lie then fuck off!"

"WHY KARA! You didn't need to!"

"BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT YOU! And i have only ever cared about someone this much once and i lost them and it broke me. But i care about you more than anything Draco, which is why i'm going to need you to fuck off and leave me alone" I growled. "Do- do you mean that?"

"Of fucking course i do. Why do you think i've protected you all this time? But if this is what i get for making sure you were safe then fuck you"

"I don't want this. I lost everyone else, kind of. But i can't disobey him, he'll kill me or torture me, whatever he pleases. And i'll disappoint my parents"

"I've disappointed everyone Draco. Just do what you need to do because being disappointed in and looked down on by everyone is horrible, it's not something anyone should want or have to feel"

He frowned at me and walked out of the room when i sat back down. My gums hurt from not eating and the craving of blood got bigger. It's just too bad i didn't have anything to drink.

(end of dream)

I sat up with a frown. "It changed?" I muttered to myself. I climbed out of the window to see if Luna was outside and smiled when I saw her. "Hey Luna? Can we talk again?"
