II. The Odd Speculation

The three walked outside into the cold night. Lucky was running, and Hawks was yelling at him for getting ahead. Ivory rolled her eyes at the boys and followed behind quietly. She looked around, feeling the most peaceful when surrounded by nature. Ivory turned to see Roxie's spirit watching her, and then Roxie disappeared.

Ivory ran and caught up with the boys. The three ran four blocks to get the pizza and found their way into the basement lounge. Lucky was telling funny jokes, and the three kept laughing. Eventually, Lily joined them, and the four were talking about extraterrestrials.

"I believe that they exist," Hawks said.

"People have said to seen angels, Jesus, and aliens," Lucky said.

"That's what I'm saying," Lily added. "There's proof that Jesus existed. You don't have to believe in religion, but I think competent people know that Heaven, Hell, and the Spiritual Realm are real."

"Cemeteries creep me out sometimes," Ivory said, and they turned to her. "Sometimes I feel that some are nice, and some have bad things going on in them."

"Maybe you're an empath," Lily said, "Empaths are sensitive to energy and emotions."

"Yes, I agree with that," Hawks said. He seemed to be thinking.

Ivory was thinking about Empaths. She then asked, "Have any of you ever felt that there is something …. weird with this gang?"

"Yes," Lily said.

"Sometimes," Lucky said.

"Definitely," Hawks said. "I thought I was the only one."

"Well, what do you think it is?"

None of them knew.

"I find it odd that Blue can detect everything," Hawks said.

"So, do you think that Blue is a psychic?" Lucky asked.

"No, he's definitely not a psychic," Lily answered.

Ivory was thinking about that room. "Hey, what about that mysterious door that was in the old base?"

"Yeah, I always wondered what was behind it," Lucky said, "but I'm not curious enough to look inside."

"It's probably aborted fetuses and body parts of his chosen victims," Hawks said, and they all laughed.

"What about Harley? She's a spy; Maybe Harley's spying on people for him," Ivory said.

"Harley doesn't understand how Blue figures out things," Lily said.

"She was the one that was spying on Swindle H and me, right? There's no way he would have known we went to the club and that I had that phone. Swindle H didn't know; the guy told me not to tell her."

"Harley didn't spy on you and Swindle H," Lily glanced at Ivory. "Blue knew that you went there looking for someone. Blue knew that you had that phone."

Ivory's eyes widened. "How did he find out?"

"I don't know."

"Maybe it's other gangs doing it for him?" Lucky suggested.

"No, I don't think so," Hawks began to think.

"Wait, so if Blue isn't a psychic or a prophet, then what is he?" Lucky asked.

There was silence.

"I think the secret to this gang is behind that door," Ivory said.

Lily and Lucky nodded.

"Listen, none of us should go through that door. Ivory already had her punishment; we know what will happen," Hawks said. "Besides, if Blue suggests torture, Red won't be that generous."

"What's wrong with Red? Are he and Blue psychopaths?"

Hawks raised a brow. "Red? No, Red's a sadist."

"Oh, those people that get pleasure from torturing, humiliating, and embarrassing people?"

The three nodded.

"Yeah, I'd stay away from him," Lily said. "He's creepy."

"Blue isn't a psychopath," Lucky said. "He doesn't fit that criterion."

"What about a sociopath?" Ivory asked.

"He isn't a Sociopath, either. His family is all gang members, so I think he knows that you can't use emotions when it comes to the dangerous parts of life," Lucky explained.

"So, he's a sociopath," Lily said.

Hawks laughed as Lucky rolled his eyes.

Ivory felt something else but kept it at that. When Ivory had first lain her eyes onto Blue, there was something about him that scared her. Generally, people make her uncomfortable because most people carry negative energy, but Blue made her want to pee her pants. If she were to ever see Blue in public, she'd run the other way.

Ivory cannot explain the feeling that Blue makes her feel. Ivory didn't believe that anyone could; they all seemed to love and trust Blue. Everyone seemed comfortable around him. Ivory believed that Blue was a sociopath and was a master-manipulator. Ivory wasn't so sure only why she was the first to notice.

"Ivory," Lily began, "you're sensitive to energy. What do you feel from him?"

Ivory sighed. "I don't think you'd fully believe me."

"We would; We've seen bizarre things," Lucky shrugged.

"You and Hawks didn't notice that tattoo on his arm, maybe Lily has noticed the tattoo."

"What tattoo?" Lily asked and Ivory frowned.

"Ivory said there's a tattoo," Hawks then recited it.

"I've never seen that tattoo."

"Okay, well, his skin is kind of weird."

"How so?"

"It looks…. rubbery," Ivory said. Her eyes widened, "That's it! His skin is rubbery."

"Is that why it looks like that?" Lucky asked.

"I thought he was thick-skinned," Hawks said.

Ivory sighed and had begun to giggle while Lily sent Hawks a strange look. Hawks laughed and threw a pillow at Lily, who lunged the pillow back. Lucky finished the last slice of pizza and ignored what was happening in front of him.

"I don't know what he is, but something about him isn't normal," Ivory began.

The three stared at her, not knowing what to think or say.

"Yeah, his skin is weird," Hawks said.

"Maybe it's a skin condition," Lucky said.

"That's what I was thinking."

Ivory turned to Lily, who nodded. She and Lily seemed to agree. The two young women considered the gang bizarre, and Blue was certainly different in appearance, but the two women couldn't figure out what made Blue so unique and odd. Eventually, the women stayed silent and ended the conversation as Hawks and Lucky seemed uncomfortable talking about Blue, and they had no leads to prove their claims. Blue and his skin were a cold case.
