Chapter 2: where fantasy became reality

3rd person POV:

"What was that?" Jaehyun asked, his voice filled with concern.

Lee Dohwa's voice trembled as he spoke up, "Hey, what we saw and heard last night, it can't be true... right?" His eyes darted from one friend to another, seeking reassurance.

Ryu Min sighed, his brow furrowed with uncertainty. "I don't know... I mean, all of us saw the book glowing that night. It's hard to deny what we witnessed."

Seo Han's voice quivered as he spoke, his fear palpable. "But if it's true... if people find out about vampires and werewolves, they'll hunt us down. We could be in real danger."

Yang Kijoon, trying to maintain a sense of logic, attempted to calm the group. "There's no way vampires and werewolves are real. We're not living in a fantasy novel or anything like that. It's just a coincidence."

Han Jihyun chimed in, his smile forced but hopeful. "That's right! We need to stay grounded in reality. Let's not let our imaginations get the best of us."

The group breathed a collective sigh of relief, finding solace in Jihyun and Kijoon's words. They resumed their lunch, attempting to push aside the unsettling thoughts that had plagued them.

But their respite was short-lived.

A panicked voice pierced the air, causing the students to freeze in their seats. They turned their heads toward the source of the cry, their eyes widening in horror. A girl stumbled into the cafeteria, her neck covered in crimson stains.

Gasps filled the room as the students rose from their seats, their confusion and concern growing with each passing moment.

"Why is she covered in blood?" one student whispered.

"Look at her neck... it's like a vampire's bite," another remarked, his voice trembling.

The group exchanged bewildered glances, struggling to comprehend the scene unfolding before them.

"What happened to her?" Lee Dohwa asked, his voice trembling with fear.

"How are we supposed to know? We were all here together," Ryu Min replied, his tone laced with frustration.

A voice crackled over the loudspeaker, urging the students to return to their classrooms. The urgency in the speaker's voice sent shivers down their spines.

"I repeat, please return to your classrooms immediately."

Thud! The sound reverberated through the cafeteria, causing the students to jump in alarm.

Without hesitation, the students hurriedly made their way out of the cafeteria, following the instructions given to them. Fear gripped their hearts as they stumbled upon a gruesome sight outside the cafeteria doors—a trail of blood leading to a motionless figure on the floor.

"Ackkkk!"

"What is that?!"

"Yuckkkk! Ewww!"

"Why is the floor covered in blood?!"

The students recoiled in horror, their voices filled with disgust and terror.

Sung Minju's voice trembled as she struggled to comprehend the scene before her. "What's happening here?"

Lee Dohwa fought back tears, his hands covering his mouth in shock. "I think... I think I'm going to be sick."

Jang Dae-hyun quickly handed a paper bag to Lee Dohwa, his eyes filled with concern and empathy.

"Ackk! Help!" Another student's desperate cry pierced the air, drawing their attention to a horrifying sight—a man sinking his teeth into the neck of a fellow student.

Ryu Min's voice wavered as he struggled to process what he was witnessing. "A... a vampire?"

Lee Dohwa's voice cracked, tears streaming down his face. "This can't be happening... it's like a nightmare."

Yang Kijoon's voice cut through the chaos, reminding them of the urgency of the situation. "We need to find a safe place, now!" The group rallied together, running towards a nearby classroom where other students had sought refuge.

Jaehyun pounded on the classroom door, his voice filled with urgency. "Hey! Open the door!" The students inside turned their heads, their eyes widening in recognition and concern. Without hesitation, they flung the door open, allowing the group to seek shelter within.

As they entered the room, a mix of relief and fear washed over them. The reality of their situation sank in, as they realized that fantasy had become a chilling reality.
