Spiritual Disturbance

Ethan and Dahlia were getting themselves ready to transform. Mary and Ethel gave Ethan a tight hug. "Remember, what ever happens we will get through it" Ethan said, trying to reassure the elders. "You're strong, we know you'll be okay" Ethel said quickly wiping away a tear that escaped. "It will be okay" Mary said as she squeezed her sister tightly. "We know there's a risk, but I'm ready if you're ready dad" Dahlia said with confidence and a strong conviction.

"I will have medical on standby just in case. You know me, a person set in their ways, that backs everything with statistics and facts" Lockhart said as he held his best friend's arm. "Since when have you gone soft old friend" Ethan said with his usual grin, followed with a wink. Lockhart rolled his eyes a walked off. Dahlia giggled at her father and Lockhart. Dahlia couldn't hold it against Lockhart for being worried, she was worried as well. Up until she released her mother's spirit inside of her dad, she's been lost with how it's even possible. Even for the world of Supernaturals, it's even far fetched.

"I'm ready if you are dad" Dahlia said with enthusiasm. "Go ahead and shift first, that way if anything goes wrong we can help as fast as possible" Dahlia added. "Okay, sounds good to me" Ethan stated. In the distance he could see medical personnel with portable medical equipment. They met with Lockhart. He couldn't hear them, so Lockhart must have been talking through mindlink. They stayed back with Lockhart and must have been told to just observe and interfere if things went wrong. "Thanks buddy for everything" Ethan mindlinked Lockhart. "Will you just get on with it" Lockhart snapped back through mindlink. Lockhart being cranky is to be expected and his little fit of rage made Ethan chuckle. "What's so funny" Dahlia asked. "Oh nothing, let's just get this over with" Her father stated. "Sure let's do it" Dahlia said with a hint of suspicion.

Amelia and the elders were standing and watching as Dahlia and Ethan started to move away from them. "Why are they moving away" Amelia asked. Ethel rested her hand on her back. "To keep us safe. A wolf's transformation even when they've turned hundreds of times can be powerful and unpredictable. We don't know what will happen to Ethan. If the transformation turns bad, he could lash out" Ethel stated. "Oh I see" Amelia said with worry. "Don't fret my dear, Dahlia will be there to aid him. She probably is that only one who can control his power" Mary said. "Is she really that strong?" Amelia asked with surprise in her voice. "To date, Dahlia is the most powerful wolf to be born. Being favored my the moon goddess and being blessed with such amazing powers" Ethel expressed. "You'd never know by looking at her" Amelia said still recovering from her shock. "Dahlia is as pure as they come. Body, mind and soul are pure" Mary stated. "It looks like they're about to begin" Ethel said. Amelia and Mary stopped talking and started to watch them with a careful eye.

"Don't tell anyone but I'm a little scared" Ethan said to his daughter. "I know you are. I am too but we have to at least try and I'll be by your side, whatever the outcome" Dahlia said. "Thanks for being my daughter" Ethan stated. "Stop with the nonsense and shift so we can move on. There's no half assed goodbyes around here" Dahlia said with a grin and tossing her dad a thumbs up. Dahlia's shenanigans helped Ethan to calm way down. "Okay, I'm 100% ready, let's start the transformation" Erhan said with confidence. "Way to go, let's do it dad" Dahlia cheered him on. Ethan had a confused and worried look on his face. "What's wrong dad?" Dahlia expressed her concern. Ethan, looked like he was lost and didn't know what was going on.

"I started the transformation and nothing happened?" Ethan said confused. Dahlia relayed the message to Ethel and Mary with mindlink. "He has to keep trying, he's been through so much and nearly died, it may take a few minutes, much like a first shift" Ethel replied through mindlink. "Ethel said to keep trying that, because of what you went through it may take a few minutes, or be like a first shift" Dahlia told her father. "That makes sense I'll keep trying, I still don't feel any sensations" Dahlia's father replied. "I have faith in you dad" Dahlia said, reclaiming her role as her father's biggest cheer leader. Ethan felt more determined than ever. He kept trying to trigger his transformation. Dahlia was focused on her dad's energy to see if anything was changing. "I don't see your energy changing either" Dahlia told her father. An hour must have gone by and nothing was happening. Ethan still stood before everyone's watchful eyes in his human form.

Ethan looked like he was defeated. "I don't know what's going on, this has never happened to me before. I've been able to transform since I was 5 years old" Ethan said emotionally to his daughter. Dahlia embraced her sobbing father in a big hug. I don't know what's going on either, but I'll be by your side no matter what!" Dahlia said with optimism. Dahlia's comment made her dad smile. "Let's wait a little longer and see if anything happens. If nothing happens we can always try again later' Dahlia said again.

Ethan gave it his all. Over and over again be tried to trigger his wolf transformation. If anything was certain, Ethans sheer determination could move mountains but it seemed to not be enough in this moment. Time was flying by and the sun had begun to set. Dahlia started feeling defeated herself. Watching her dad, try to trigger his transformation over and over, was making her feel very emotional. Dahlia couldn't imagine not being able to transform, now that she's made her transformation. Dahlia, thought long and hard about what could be causing it. Maybe the two spirit wolves are fighting for control. Maybe her dad has a transformation block. Dahlia only wanted to cheer her dad on but it was starting to get dark. "Hey dad, why don't we call it a day and try again later" Dahlia said as she tried to sound positive. Ethan was visibly upset. "If you want to go inside, go ahead, I haven't given up yet" Dahlia's father said with rage in his voice. Dahlia chuckled at him. "Well, if you're not going, neither am I" Dahlia said, meeting his comment with equal frustration.
