Hidden Secrets

I'm sitting at the kitchen table, where I just finished my breakfast. My dad went all out this time. He keeps trying to distract me from my stress on waiting to hear from Harper. "Thanks Dad, breakfast was amazing. I'm so full!" Dahlia said. My dad chuckled at me. "That's why they say, everything in moderation" my dad said laughing. "Very funny!" Dahlia said. My father made; fried potatoes, bacon, fried eggs, toast, variety of fruit, orange juice and buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were so hot, the butter just slide right off the top, leaving behind a butter pool. The potatoes, the outside golden brown, they had a slight crunch and the insides were soft. The eggs were made with the bacon grease, and the yolk wasn't too runny, perfect to for soaking up with the toast. The berries were perfect. The bacon...The bacon, is there ever a wrong way to make bacon? The bacon was crispy and was still a little soft. The orange juice, freshly squeezed. How can I not go overboard? It's a good thing we are werewolves, otherwise continually having breakfasts like this, we would definitely have to worry about our cholesterol. I can't think, I feel like I can hardly breath, such a perfect breakfast. I needed it, I craved it. We are sitting there enjoying each other's company when we here a crash. "What was that?!" my dad asked. I went on full alert. "Where did it come from?" Dahlia said. "I have no idea!" my dad said. It's extremely hard to sneak up on a werewolf but here we are, something sneaking uo on us, trying to give us a heart attack. We hear splashing. "Oh my god dad, it's coming from the sink!" Dahlia exclaimed. My dad and I run over to the sink to go investigate. "Harper!" my dad said. "What are you doing in the sink!" he asked again. My dad scoops her uo with his hands. "Is she going to be okay?" Dahlia asked. Just then we see Harper burp up bubbles from the soap that was soaking the recently used pots and pans. "I was compromised and I rushed here, the chaos threw off my teleportation" Harper said. "Are you okay?" Dahlia asks. "Yes, I'm fine. Embarrassed a little" Harper said trying to dry off with the hand towel my dad gave her. After making sure our beloved Fae was okay, we erupted in unexpected laughter. "You scared the hell of out us!" Dahlia said. "Who knew the fearless Fae, could sneak uo on a werewolf and live to tell the tale!" my dad said chuckling. "Get it out of your system, we need to have a serious chat. Has anyone heard from Tobias yet?" Harper said anxiously. 'Knock, knock' "Someone's at the front door. Harper you said you were compromised, you need to hide while we check it out" Dahlia said. "Yes, don't show yourself, until we know it's not a threat!" my dad commanded. My father got up from the table to check the door. My father opens the door and can you believe it, it's Tobias. As if the Vampire kings ear were burning, he's standing right before us in daylight? "Tobias, how are you here?" Dahlia asked. Tobias gave us a look and raised his eyebrows at us "I flew here, like ever other time I've been?" Tobias said. "But...it's daylight..." Dahlia said. "Dahlia, he's the king of Vampires, born a Vampire, he's a daywalker" Harper said. "Oh, I just assumed you couldn't go out into the sun?" Dahlia said. "The concept is new for me too" my dad said confused. "Oh, right, I forgot all of our encounters have been at dusk or night time" Tobias said. "A mere coincidence, underlings can only go out at night, and lower level of Vampire don't have the kind of power to daywalk" Tobias said. "It would take a lot more to kill me then the sun. I'm an original Vampire" Tobias said. "That is both amazing and horrifying" Dahlia said. "I'll take it as a compliment" Tobias says. "Come in Tobias" my father said. "I have much to tell you and I found the evidence I've been looking for" Harper said. We nod our heads and move to the kitchen table, to hear what Harper has to say. Harper pulls out her wand, gives it a flick and a pipe of letters and a jeweled necklace appear on the table. "I was able to finally sneak into Lord Ulrich's study, he had these hidden away. They're correspondence between Lord Ulrich and The council witch" Harper said. "But that's not all! Apparently, this jeweled necklace was worn by Genevieve, and it was infused with dark magic, that turned your mom into their puppet. Here have a look at the letters. His every misdeed is written down as evidence" Harper said. We take out the letters and my dad reads the aloud, as hidden clues are uncovered, tears can't help escape my eyes.

My council witch refuses to help me. Please, help me. If I can't have her, then no one will. I never want to see another heir from Ravenwood. I also want to get rid of The Vampire King. How smug can he be? Treating me like that, I'll make them all pay. I want Genevieve and Sébastien to die and I want the Vampire kings mate dead. This is an order, or I will kill your daughter.

Use it to kill, the ones you want dead. Gift the Luna the necklace, and let her do your bidding. Don't ever come at me like that again.

"Oh my god!" Dahlia exclaimed. "Dahlia, I'm so sorry for everything" Tobias said. "No one wants your apology, we want you to help us find out who did this" My father said. "Very well, I Tobias Hardening, remove the blood pact and vow to be allies and fight against this evil" Tobias says. My quill on my hand disappeared. "Let's work together to find out who did this" Tobias said. "My 20th birthday, it's only in 8 months do we have enough time?" Dahlia said nervously. "Leave the planning to me. We must follow through our obligations in finding your mate. So the council stays off our backs" my dad said. "Okay dad, you're right" Dahlia said. I can't believe Harper actually uncovered Lord Ulrich's hidden secrets. Tobias is now our ally. Can this day get any better?
