The blessing of immortality (GL) dropped

One day Victoria's nightmare became reality after the God denied her rights as an angel. But that made her meet a rather familiar woman. Will fate bring luck upon the love between a mortal and an immortal? !notice! This is going to be kind of a slowburn since i want the characters to have some kind of depth. But still it's gonna be worth it!

chapter 4: A young woman moved to the old house and made the villagers angry

In a while, a loud voice was heard though out the palace, saying ,,Good morning dear, I was waiting for you. Let's sit down"

Victoria couldn't recognize where it was coming from so she stood in confuse in one still place. Looking around, she noticed a door slightly ajar with light coming from there and a pleasant smell along with it. She choose to follow it since it was the only hope of finding the voice's owner and hopefully the Queen.

While she was walking the door suddenly shut, making it almost dark there. A feeling of night was making it's way into everyone's face.

In the moment she stepped into the room behind the door, she felt nervousness, even though there was nothing she should be afraid of. Deeply down she knew, that they possibly can't send her away, since there was no other place, if not including the mortal world. But she could be sent into the mortal world only if they exiled her from hell, which was almost impossible. They had to also follow certain rules there, but it's not like they were very strict. Most of the times, it was just basic rules with nothing special and exceptional.

The other party must have sensed her bad feelings and made sure she wasn't afraid of anything.

,,No need to be nervous, come sit down and we will discuss everything. If you want to ask something, you're free to do anytime" she said.

As she was talking, Victoria was checking her though out, she had quite good physique and was tall. Her beautiful long hair was in a bun with red silk around it, it went well with her heavy makeup, that was visible on her face, Victoria noticed that, that her eyes shimmered when blinking with the excessive glitter. Thus it gave her a much youthful look. However she seemed quite narcissistic and confidence was painted in her eyes, because they can never lie. However there was still a good aura to her, her personality just seemed sharp like a knife.

Victoria finished scanning the person sitting in front of her and chose to sit next to her since she gestured her to sit down next to her with her hand, but still keeping distance.

Soon the Queen started, ,,So... you're Victoria? If my mind is not playing tricks. I hope so not, nice to meet you. It'll most likely be a pleasure working with you"

Her hand flew up and found the other's hand to shake hands. The Queen smiled as she did so, Victoria returning the flavor. ,,At the moment we're in the palace, where I live and right down the street are renting houses for the workers. Although they have their own rooms or houses they are in the mortal world most of the time, either guarding the Gate or completing a mission outside. Our goal in missions is to eliminate the person of cause, never the wrong one. Since we must be correct, we let the demons live a "mortal" life to get to know everyone and choose correctly..."

...

It already got dark outside. Not too dark to say it was dark, but also not to bright to say it was bright.

Victoria got assigned a mission right away after arriving. She wasn't sure how she felt about doing something so soon, but at elast she'll get used to it and do a better job, even though it didn't matter because ranks didn't exist there and everyone was equal, they were even immortal.

Up it always felt like a competition without true living. Every day was a race of who will get up in rank quicker. It must have been hard for everyone, but it was the only way.

Now that she arrived to the house, where she is staying, her thoughts were really mixed. Her mouth was opened wide.

,,Is this really the right place?"

,, Did the Queen accidentally pay a scammer?"

,,Does the Queen have a problem with attitude?"

No one would bat an eye if it was a normal house with standardly looking outside. However this one looked...really old...the outside was almost eaten by termites and god knows what else and somehow...no roof? When she turned to the left side, it had a small building with a sign "bakery".

,,Am i a baker now?"

Her view changed to the right side of the property and she saw a small pond with colorful fishes swimming around. The edges of the pond were sandy with reeds growing into all angles.

Victoria was definitely able to live as a human, but this was too much even for her, and she did happen to experience a lot as a kid. She looked to her right hand and realized she was carrying a hammer along with some wood. She turned her hand and viewed it. There was nothing else she could do. Work is work.

...

A loud noise pierced into the villagers ears. It echoed all though the village and it seemed like it coming from the house, where nobody lives. All of them stood shocked and let go of their work to listen correctly.

,,Did someone move in to the haunted house?"

,,The ghost must have broke free!! We're going to die one by one!"

,,How about we go check it? Gossiping isn't gonna do more than scare the person that has moved there" an old man said calmly.

He looked really mature like the head of the village, he must have a high position. However it wasn't that easy to tell, since his clothes were almost tore apart and dirty from the manual work. He worked with metal and fire, making beautiful jewelry from it. He had everything from necklaces to badges that were supposed to lure away all the bad spirits in the village. One could call him a priest.

He stopped the fire with a bucket of water and went to the house along with other people.

A knock, followed by a few others was heard coming from the door. Victoria quickly turned and looked at the door. Did she have visitors so soon? She didn't even have the time and definitely not the tools to bake something. If they were here for bread, there was nothing she could give them except for mud and wood.

The hammer from her hand fell to the ground making a loud noise. Someone behind the door gasped at the sudden noise and the others were met by fear. Suddenly a face peeked though the thin space between the door and the wall. They all took a step back. The person opened the door and to their conclusion it wasn't a ghost, rather a young woman with the looks of an angel. She had pearls around her neck, waist and arms. How come she is in such a place, if she could afford them?

,,Good afternoon, can I help you with something?" Victoria opened her mouth and said. However her voice didn't match her looks, it was deep and had an aura of bad intentions. Thus there was such a big contrast.

,,Did you move in young lady?" The old man stepped in and replied to her with a question, soon he continued ,,This house doesn't have a good backround. Sigh. You should hang some talismans on your door in order to keep the bad spirits from entering"

She slightly rolled her eyes and rubbed the space between her eyebrows ,,Thank you for such a kind welcome, i will definitely hang something there and you're right. I did move in"

,,I am definitely not hanging something on my door. Why do they have a problem with demons and ghosts? I would rather kill them" she thought to herself.

,,Uh I have a lot of work to be done. So if I may then please excuse me" Victoria told them and slowly shut the door as she was waving to them, she smiled to not seem mean.

As she shut the door the villagers started to curse her as if she just stole 10 years from their lifespan. She didn't need to hear them curse at her with such words. After all she won't live here for long, after completing the mission and investigation she'll pack her things and leave. It probably won't take longer than a year. It was not a big deal to her, since she lived for 580 hundred years and encountered worse things than some villagers not liking her. Still she couldn't resist it and went to the door, leaning against it to listen.

,,What a rude b*tch, didn't her parent's taught her manners? Closing the door on old people, such a disrespect!!" a woman yelled.

,,She should just go to hell! A place in heaven is not reserved for her!"

A smile creeped out on Victoria's face after hearing that sentence. She was interested in hearing more of the results of their imagination and pictures of her.

,,I bet she's the devil itself! Reincarnated in a body of a young woman and she'll lure us into her house and then cook us!"

,,I bet on her marriage that karma will get to her!"

Victoria looked to the ground, her hands fell off the door and stared blankly at the empty inside of the house. This particular sentence got to her a little. She always dreamed of getting married, of having someone that will be with her no matter what obstacles. Someone who will be happy with her and will understand her. Her parents always told her nobody will love her with that attitude of hers and that, that she's ungrateful. That she has everything and is still not happy.

They originally planed a wedding for her with her fiancee, but she could never bring herself to love him. She didn't feel the sparkle between them, it was only a one sided love from the side of her fiancee. Even if she told her parents her feelings, norhing would change. She clearly wasn't rich enough to do what she wants. There wasn't enough money. However they still managed to buy a decent house and have food everyday, but the phobia of not being to eat one day was eating her from inside out everyday.

She wanted to end it all, she wasn't happy with her life. She didn't like her fiancee nor her parents. But she would have no one if she just run away. She always knew that hell is waiting for her. Not a single thought about her ending in heaven.

But one day it changed.

Her breathing got irregular and anxiety was getting to her. She was standing tall on a chair in her room. She waited till everyone left and now she was alone. Her hand traveled to her chest. Her heart was beating fast and her palms were getting sweaty, leaving a mark on her shirt. Only then, she closed her eyes and took a step forward.

Victoria doesn't know what happened that day, but she knows one thing for sure. She ended up in heaven. There was no place for her in hell, even after all the things she has done. The God gave her a second change and she had to choose between:

being an angel or being a ghost. She chose to be an angel. Victoria could never choose to do something related with hell after still remembering her life. The need of a change and passion was and still is burning inside of her. Her heart can be calm now, there's nothing that can stop her from doing what she wants.

...

She opened her eyes and the realization of reality hit her. There's no need of living in the past. Right now is the present and I will continue to keep on living in the present.

All of the villagers had now gone to their houses and got back to minding their own business, like they shoud have from the beginning.

Victoria moved her gaze to the sky above her.

The moon had came out a while ago and the night sky was brightly shined on by it. The stars looked like ladies, dancing in a dark navy blue room with a king watching over them, choosing the right rhytm.

Soon she looked down and prepared a mattress to lay on because she still didn't have a bed. As long as she had something it was better than nothing. But she still wished there was someone beside her.

the longest chapter so far!
