In the mines

After a few hours, Chu Jin was comfortable with the amount of iron ore he had gathered, after picking up with bag and pickaxe, he decided to leave.

As he made his way up, he heard unusual footsteps, and after stopping to listen in on what he heard, he was unpleasantly surprised.

"Is this going to be okay."

"Calm down, it's not illegal if we don't get caught."

"Who knows what the Wol clan will do to us if they find out!"

Based on what he heard, he deduced that there were people trying to harm the Wol clan here, and they might even be going after him.

As an avid believer of Wol clan supremacy, Chu Jin had always reported people who spoke wrongly about their clan, which led to him receiving a faulty reputation.

Although Chu Jin didn't care about reputation, he understood that a bad reputation could lead to 'unfortunate accidents.'

As he was heading deeper into the mines to escape from the pursuers, Chu Jin saw a slight glimmer in the darkness that was the caves.

Without the slightest consideration, he understood that this was gold.

Gold, although rare in the Wol clan mines, was still something that could be found, and the Wol clan made sure to amass a large storage of it.

Chu Jin started placing rocks in awkward positions so it would be easier to trip on them, he was preparing a trap by utilizing the shining gold as a distraction.

After placing some more rocks, Chu Jin noticed a faint glow coming from upwards, and realized just how close they were.

Without thinking much, Chu Jin decided to hide against the wall where they couldn't see him.

"Gold!"

"We found gold!"

The civilians were so preoccupied with the gold that they didn't look where they were stepping and one of their heads hit the ground.

With the swing of a pickaxe, a skull was cracked.

After realizing that there were only 3 pursuers, Chu Jin decided to attack.

Although he had never killed someone before, he knew that if they were caught slandering the Wol clan in such a way as attacking their second son, their fate wouldn't be much better.

'In the name of mercy, I will do what has to be done' he thought, before swinging his pickaxe down.

"Ahhh!"

The man who tripped screamed, before going silent, as his brain was penetrated.

Before they could comprehend what had happened, Chu Jin slammed his pickaxe into the nearest man's ear with ridiculous precision, likely brought about by his high dexterity stat.

'Two down, one to go'

But the last man had enough time to realize they had been attacked, and blocked the pickaxe strike by catching it between the bones in his arm, before throwing a punch directly at Chu Jin's face.

Bam!

Chu Jin was sent flying, as his defense stat was lower than average.

Attempting to pick himself up, Chu Jin was hit again by the man's fist, blood spilling out his nose.

But most importantly, Chu Jin had dropped his weapon, the pickaxe.

As the man picked up his pickaxe, Chu jin's life flashed before his eyes, but he regained focus.

Sweeping his opponent's leg, the man fell on top of Chu Jin, having the pickaxe cut into Chu jin's ear.

Bang bong bing.

The pickaxe fell out of their reach.

Shoving the man over, Chu Jin stood up and stepped in his 'little brother' as hard as he could until he could hear pops from the man's ball-sack.

"Ahhh!" The man screamed.

It was only then that Chu Jin recognized his voice, it was the man who was mining earlier.

"So that's why."

Chu Jin pieced it together, the man was mining so he could call his friends over and take out a member of the Wol clan who was mining.

"What a shame you met me."

Still screaming in pain, the man stood himself up.

"The Wol clan… is doomed."

"Hahaha, such slander to my righteous family." Chu Jin said, before pulling out the pickaxe and slamming it into the man's neck.

If only he listened to what the man had to say.
