As far as everyone knows, Christopher is always the heart of the Alabama; his fame has begun to overshadow that of Olivia, and this has not just given her fear but also put her on the unsafe side. Now she had to look for a means by which she could convince him to step down. Before she started going about that, she got a call from her mother asking her to urgently meet her at home. Olivia thought that that Regina was in trouble. She shifted her appointment with Hopeton later in the evening.
Olivia, with the manner of how her mother sounded on the phone, rushed down. "Mother, what is wrong? You sound so troubled on the phone. You almost scared me." She sounded. "You should be my problem." Regina replied. For cried out loud, did I do wrong by giving birth to you; what have you done that you have to turn a problem and pest to my flesh, simply because you want to be Governor and quest for power?" Olivia remained dumbfounded; she was short of words, her heart was beginning to beat, and what she could imagine was trying to trace if she had wronged her mother. "I don't understand you, mother." Regina turned to her and poured out what she had received from Isabella. "Your mother-in-law called only to inform me that you took it in but terminated it yourself. Is it true? She asked him.
Olivia again became surprised, seeing that Isabella had taken the matter to her mother, who had never asked what really went wrong. "How will I destroy my own child, mother? Isn't that what I have been praying for after my conversation with you—to have a child of my own? Then why the termination?" she asked, acting innocent. "I don't know who is on the right side, you or her, since you once were into taking contraceptives to prevent yourself from getting pregnant. In addition, I don't trust you anymore. Paraventure you have done such, have it right in your senses that you have committed murder, not just that, and because of this, taking the life of my grandchild by yourself, you won't in anyway get to be the Alabama Governor until the truth is said." Regina was so disappointed and angry that she made a comment that will almost affect her daughter's career.
"Oh, no, mother, spare me that." Olivia sounds so rude. "Yes, I didn't inform you that I was pregnant until you heard it from Isabella, but that shouldn't be a reason why you should lay such a curse on me. Have you forgotten that I am your daughter and will always remain so? "However, to crown it all, mother, I didn't terminate my pregnancy simply because of power," she says, running her mouth so quickly against her mother.
Regina, that almost goes in similar lines with Isabella with the intention that Olivia knows what had happened to her pregnancy and should ignore hearing her innocent words, of which she claimed not to have had anything to do with such. The discussion was over. Olivia needs to catch up on her appointment with Christopher in a quiet environment where they have agreed to meet. "Sorry for keeping you waiting, Olivia," Christopher apologized for coming late. She has no problem with that; all she wanted was to see him agree with her words. "Why do you choose to talk in this kind of environment—doesn't it look suspicious?" He asked even though his guard was around watching them in order to make sure he is safe.
"This is all about brave men, not cowards. I should accept the fact that you are a man, filled with wisdom and courage, so I see to it that we discussed here." She answered him. The conversation continued more deeply, and she also demanded that the both security personnel stay far away from them. Christopher, agreed with that, the continue. "We have had this conversation there with my in-law Hudson, but I see to it that you don't want to give up your intentions of becoming Alabama Governor, wanting to put your legs in my shoes, which is impossible." She spoke to him.
Christopher, remain calm, nodding his head. "I see that you have made yourself prepared for this, and with your brave heart, you made it necessary to have the power." Anyway, yes, we once had the discussion, and my reply was not to give up, which remains the same. Not even your words, non-Hudson's, will make me change my mind."
"Calm down, your Excellency, we are not here to fight, rather, I am with my whole heart asking you to make your demand, am ready offer you what you want if and only if you will step down for me." She made her request.
Right there, he paused out breath, took a step closer to her, and spoke, "This is not all about money or your present; Alabama citizens need me now, and it is time I reciprocate; I need to respond to the call, knowing fully that your father-in-law, Hudson, didn't work as expected of him. So if I should advise you, little girl, kindly accept the defeat when the fight has not yet begun rather than accepting it in shame, you can do this by accepting to be my deputy." He replied her.
Olivia saw another strength in him: the support he has gotten from the people. Yet the secret behind Christopher force for power, which she wasn't aware of,, is that Charles is in support of him running the election, and he has promised to use his resources to see that Christopher wins the election. This was not to pay her for her evil; instead, he sensed the truth: that Olivia deny him some of his connections when she won the election. He knew how desperate she is, and failure to get married to her will really show that in the picture. Although Hudson never thought of doing it, what he always wanted was to see that power be given to his family. "Are you done with your words?" Christopher asked her. She smiled at him and shook her head. "I am done, but not really okay until you step down." She replied to him. "Sorry to disappoint you, young lady, I won't step down. I have made up my mind, just as you have, to take power from Hudson. "Good bye and extend my regard to Hudson." He left.
"Oh, my God, what a hell! He is becoming hard; nevertheless, I will show him the manner of woman I am made of." She said as she also left the premises.
