Charles has come to believe that all women are the same; he got the notion from what Olivia had done to him. In order not to think about it further, he made up his mind never to love again. But guess what? The love he never sees coming was right before him but needed to be a gradual process. Anyway, he began his attitude after resumption to work a week after the incident. While he was sitting and working on some files in his office, Deborah came in to deliver him a file containing the contract he had won, after receiving permission to enter.
"Good morning, sir," she greeted. He ignored her and continued with his work. "Sir, how was your night?" she asked again to know how he spent the night. At this point, Charles became very angry and replied to her. "When did you have to speak to me in such a manner? Perhaps we are not of the same class, so keep your caring attitude and maintain distance; just do your work and don't think you can draw me closer to yourself or try to make me feel that you can give me joy," he scolded her.
Insist she used the door as he wanted her to do, Deborah dropped the file on his table. Upon opening the file, he realized it was a contract he had applied for three years ago and has now be won. This really calls for celebration, but not this time; because he is depressed with the disappointment he has received from Olivia. "Anyway, I will sign the contract, and again, try sending emails to the company; we will supply the product, just as I said, use the door now." He spoke angrily.
She quickly left the office. Getting to her seat, she wasn't happy with what had happened, especially the scolding he gave her. On the other hand, it is the right time for her to gain the love she has always dreamed of: being with Charles and loving him all the days of her life.
"I think this is the right time to show my love to him; yes, I know how difficult it will be, but one thing is certain: I must reveal to my son who his biological father is," she speaks within herself, imagining how she will tie the knot with Charles. The feeling began to move her—that she had to endure all his bad attitude towards her. She was still imagining how glorious her marriage with Charles will be when David passes her without her notice to congratulate Charles on his contract won.
" Woooooo! This called for celebration, boss," he said so happily, and continued, "Where can we celebrate this? In fact, I need to arrange the party because it is a credit to this company and an achievement for you." Charles folded his hands and kept looking at him. "Was that the reason why you didn't knock before entering my office? You need to accord me some respect as your boss," he warned. David remained calm and wondered when such speech became a part of Charles.
But needed to apologized. "I'm sorry, boss, I'm just trying to act as usual. Pardon my manners." Charles smiled and asked him to have a seat. Right there, he spoke out, explaining why he wouldn't celebrate the contract, using the shock he had received from Olivia as an excuse, and trying to reason why Olivia had left him for Jonathan with the belief that it wasn't just because of power.
"Boss, you are handsome, wealthy, and charming; your wealth and richest have gone across the state; Just that she is not met for you; moreover, you and I know how trikish Hudson could be. He had planned, seeing that the position of state governor continues to run in his family, with the disappointment he received from Jonathan incompetence and not ready for politics. he had to come to an agreement with Olivia, getting married to Jonathan is the only way she can achieve her selfish abitious," He explained. Being a part of the Hudson family, he has gotten this message from Jonathan, his cousin, who loves Olivia but hates playing politics games. Just keep running his career as a lawyer. "Don't you think she will get to regret her action later, because it is obvious that she is already losing it?" I have what it takes to fix her in that position, but she have throw out the opportunity to a man who wants to use her to fulfill his selfish ambitions, just as she is also. "However, I have come to the conclusion that all women are equal and won't try going into a new relationship with anyone; not even you or my parents will change my decision, no matter the magic words you both may use," he assured him.
David, sitting with all ears open, smiled before him and tried to make him believe that there are ladies in Alabama who are ready to offer him true love, so he shouldn't give up. "I felt your pain, boss; aborting your baby and taking you unaware wasn't your expectation from her, but that shouldn't be a reason where you conclude that all ladies are equal." "There are those outside there who have seen this as a golden opportunity to have a part in your life. Just cheer up and let the sleeping dog have her sleep, while you find your true love," he demonstrated with his hands as he sipped a cup of juice he brought from the fridge, right in Charles's office.
Despite all advice, charles still believe that ladies are all thesame. he concluded before David that he has made up his mind and there is no going back.
Preferring to be single rather than getting more disappointment or keep reflecting on how he has spent interesting time with Olivia.
Charles became more rude and hard nut to crack to any lady that tried getting his attention, both within Alabama and around the United States of America. The more he refused, the more he kept receiving gifts of flowers, letters, emails, and friend requests on social media from ladies, showing him green light, the light that called for true love, yet he maintain his words.
He kept receiving countless messages, and one written, "It is time to take my place in your life, so stop being stubborn and draw closer to the heart that really loves you." from an unknown lover. No action was taken to trace who had sent such a message since he had made up his mind never to love again.
