She saw a glint of disappointment in his eyes and she felt a wave of frustration from his voice.
"What do you mean?" She asked because she had no idea why he was angry.
He took an annoyed breath. "Why did you dance like that in front of those people?"
Their eyes locked with each other and Nicholas saw confusion in her. He clicked his tongue and sighed in surrender.
"I don't know if you're naive or just plain stupid. Those men were looking at you like their prey. Once you step out, they will take you. Do you want that?" He shouted at her.
Her eyes widened. "I had no idea that so many people would come. I was informed that I'll be dancing for you and another client, that's all I know."
He turned his heavy gaze away from her. "You shouldn't believe every word coming from Matilda. Those men already know that you are a virgin. The bidding starts before your dance. Matilda sent invitations to potential clients, including me."
Fear crawled over her body, prickling her skin. The thought of a man who she didn't even like would be her first made her paralyzed.
"Then I guess I just have to wait." She whispered.
He threw a hard look on her and without a word, left. It wasn't the outcome she had expected, but she wouldn't show him how scared she was.
Her knees trembled. Fear chilled her heart when she let herself fall on the floor.
"Lia, what happened?" Ady rushed to her side and took her to her bedroom.
"Did you know?" She asked.
Ady seemed clueless when she saw a frown on her face.
"Mama invited those men and told them I am a virgin. She said she's reserving me, I didn't think it's this soon." She panicked.
"What? That old hag! Lia, you need to seduce Nicholas. If he won't buy you, you'll be taken by some ugly smelly guy."
She sighed. "I think he's not interested."
"Why? Did he tell you anything?" Ady asked.
She shook her head. "He got mad after the dance and told me I'm stupid."
"He's mad because he's interested. Look." Ady pointed at the bouquet of tulips on her side table.
She took the small card and opened it. The flower was a surprise, but what's even more surprising was the person who gave them.
'There's sunshine in your smile. - Nick'
"What does it mean?"
A wave of happiness washed over her and her eyes were sparkling when she faced Ady.
"Are you sure? What if he lost interest?" Ady asked after she told her about her plans.
"I don't know, but I have to do it. I'm losing time, anyway."
Ady nodded. "Okay. If Nicholas won't buy you, I'll persuade other clients."
She chuckled. "I'm glad I met you here. It's been only two weeks but you help me a lot."
She wasn't sure if Nicholas would come back, but she was hoping he would. And it only took three days for her to wait.
"I thought you won't visit the club again." She said.
"We're not done yet."
She was confused, then she remembered their agreement the second time they met.
"Well, I think I'm pretty sure I'm used to seeing your dick get sucked." She giggled.
"Then how about watching me touch those girls? Like your good friend Ady."
Her eyes stuttered open. She was shocked and was unable to speak. Ady already had a soft spot in her heart and she considered her a friend. But Mia knew that every woman's dream in that club was to be touched by Nicholas Hudson.
Her lips curved, then she gave him a steady hostile glare.
"If it would make you happy, then be my guest."
Two men walked inside the private room, dragging Ady.
"Let me go!"
Ady was in a frenzy and Mia could tell that even though she was one of those women who dreamed of Nicholas Hudson, Ady valued their closeness more.
"Sit down!" One of the men forced Ady to sit, and to their surprise, tore her clothes.
A bullet of panic rose through Ady's throat when Nicholas brushed his hand on her thighs. If it happened before meeting Lia, she would have felt different.
Mia felt a cursing wave of despair when Ady looked at her.
"I'm sorry." Ady murmured.
As Nicholas slowly moved his hand to Ady's breast, her heart turned cold. She shot Nicholas a warning look when a helpless anger simmered in her.
"I give up! Okay?" She then averted her eyes.
The two men took the naked Ady out of the room. They were silently staring at each other for a few minutes and she wondered what he was thinking.
"What do you want?" She asked with gritted teeth.
Nicholas crossed his legs. "You haven't realized your mistake?"
She knew she offended him a few times already. First was when she slapped him in front of everyone. Second was dancing with other men present. And third was telling him she was used to seeing his dick get sucked.
"I have no excuse so just tell me what you want."
"What I want is you."
She would feel glad if she wasn't working as a scarlet. But those words had a different meaning for women like her.
"You can just pay Mama and book me. You can even pay anyone to get rid of me if I offended you." She said in sarcasm.
"You're right. But this place is my friend's business so I have to do it by his rules. I don't ruin business for pleasure."
How chivalrous! She wanted to exclaim that. "F–Fine! Just tell me what I have to do."
"Sleep with me and allow me to touch you."
"What? You're really asking for permission?"
"That's what you said when we first met."
"Even if I agreed, Mama will only allow me to sleep with someone who's willing to buy my virginity."
Nicholas laughed. "Do you think I can't buy you?"
