"Alisa? Who is that?" Leo's voice crackled through the speaker.
"Stop asking me questions, and check," Javier instructed, his tone brisk as he juggled the call and scanned through his emails. "She shouldn't be in school today, but check just in case."
Javier ended the call, his fingers tapping on the phone screen before setting it down on his desk. He turned his attention back to the tasks at hand.
Moments later, there is a sharp knock on his door.
"CEO," the director greeted, stepping inside.
Javier looked up from his acrylic desk, his focus shifting from the digital glow of his computer screen to the director in his office. "Yes?"
"For the interview occurring next week, do you want to attend?" The director inquired.
Javier considered the invitation, his brow furrowing in contemplation. He leaned back in his chair, contemplating his response, before finally speaking.
