Chapter 28: Auditions

Mainland of mortals

People are walking down to a music company building's audition, box like building and the producers are talking and the trainee participants; sit down once they enter the audition room and they see a beautiful woman sit down.

"Welcome to stars. The auditions, will begin now." man said over the speakers as they exclaim.

Green star light up below them.

"White vine titles grow depends on votes and, you get into STARS. Red vine titles grow and you are eliminated and don't get, into STARS." man said and the first participant goes up.

"annyeon-haseyo. I am Orange, Elizabeth. I am 17 years old and I come from the mainland of Japane. The song I am doing is 'weird' by Starlight." girl said and the music plays even she sings and dances; even the others are dancing.

Not long after the voting begins for fans, and participants until the votes stop.

"21 votes. Elizabeth...got in." man said and the girl sat down; even white vine title lit up.

But, as they continue audition and the last participant went up.

"annyeong-haseyo. I am Asuna, Brooke. I am 19 years old and I come from the mainland of the supernatural alliance. The song I am doing is by one, of the boy bands in the 21st century." she said.

But as the music plays even she sings and dances all, of the participants and producers get up to sing and dance.

And once the song and dancing finished the votes, begin and the producers are talking.

"I cannot believe that an audition was turned, into a concert. These girls are going to make it to the debut by the end, of this month." producer 1 said.

As the votes stop and the others are nervous until...

"31 votes. Brooke-ssi...got in." man said and Brooke sits down even a white title vine lit up.

Not long after the audition ended a star, spin door opened.

"Can the STARS' participants, enter the star egg door?" man asked.

And the trainees that got eliminated hugged those, got in and they entered the star egg door even waved bye but as it opened again; they entered the lobby level of STARS.

"Our names in Korean." girl 3 said.

As half of them goes to the house like building outside, the 21 stars are sitting on the floor as the ranks appeared.

"First: Duck, Jame. 41 votes. Second: Orange, Elizabeth with 21 votes. Third: Asuna, Brooke with 31 votes..." as the man calls out the stars' ranks the producers are discussing the first test.

"This year, STARS is more harder than before." producer 2 said.

"There are 4 tests. The first test song is..." producer 1 hesitates as he pulls out a piece, of paper "...Life on a bend by STARNIGHT. Why is every band group start with 'star' in the company?" producer 1 finishes his sentence and asked confusedly.

"But! These girl band's name won't start with star." producer 3 replied.

In the stars the participants are sitting waiting for, the first test on the second level until they run down to first level and sit in their chairs.

"Good afternoon, Stars. It's time to start the tests. First song is Life on a bend." man said as the choreography song video plays as; they are watching, listening even memorizing the whole thing.

"I don't know who sang this." girl 7 said.

As the producers can't believe what she said and the stars are discussing, who gets which part of the song and picking the team leader but; as they start practicing for eight hours they begin to have their ups and downs, trusts even mistrusts but they got over it and focused on the choreography, timing; pace, singing and working together as a team even band.

As they take a break they are talking.

"Brooke, what do you want to be when you were, growing up?" Elizabeth asked.

"This." Brooke replied.

"Eating?" girl 4 asked but they begin to laugh.

"anniyo. I wanted to be a singer. I first sand in Elementary, and one of the students threw his soccer ball at me ever since, then I have been going music and singing lessons all the way til year 12 even I love to dance. I am here to prove myself, not just to me but also to my ancestors that I am not a failure." Brooke replied as she wipes her tears; away.

The team leader walked over.

"There's something else." girl 1 said.

Brooke nodded.

"My grandmother, was shot along with a police officer. And my young uncle killed himself. He...He was only 16 and, first year senior royal scholar student." Brooke said as she puts her head in her hands as she cries even sobs.

The other girls cannot believe what just happened to her along with the producers, and not long after the girls sat in their chairs while letting Brooke; have a nap with Elizabeth is sitting beside her patting her head.

"Girls, since Brooke has told you. We would like you to chose a song, from a band any band." producer said over the speaker.

"Wow!" girl 7 said in surprised.

And as the days go by where it's up to the second part, of the fourth test and the most famous even popular band visited the STARS audition building; and did a couple talk vidz for the final twelve even leaving them gifts.

As night comes and the final twelve are standing in their new rank positions, as they enter the first level of Stars and they watch the vidz including; in the second level for their counseling from the band after getting into teams and choosing three songs they, started looking around seeing new clothing for them to wear and doors with their ranks; on them.

"Okay, girls. Three girls will be leaving, STARS but there will be another chance." man said.

"Three girls. It's really happening." girl 8 said.

The girls nod and they start to practice the songs, they chase in teams as the timer counts down from 6 days, 13 hrs, 12 mins and 37 secs.

But, as the girls gets ready for bed Elizabeth sees Brooke crying while reading the letter from home.

"Brooke, what's wrong?" Elizabeth asked in concern.

"It's my grandmother died, in her sleep." Brooke replied.

"It's natural for humans." Elizabeth said.

"She was a vampire." Brooke said.

Elizabeth gives a surprised expression.

"Does that mean you're...?" Elizabeth asked.

Brooke shakes her head lightly.

"I'm a dhampir. A human-vampire hybrid." Brooke replied and they turned, off the lights and went sleep.

As the sun rises the next morning and the girls start, to wake up even get ready for practice before having breakfast.

"Okay, girls. Time for breakfast." girl 8 said.

As they enter second level and sees boxes of cereal, on the table with bowls even milk and spoons. But; one of the participants isn't feeling up to it and had fruit.

Elizabeth went over to her and sat down.

"Hey, what's wrong? Why aren't you having cereal?" Elizabeth asked.

"I always had 100g of rice for breakfast." girl 9 replied.

"Have you had this before?" Elizabeth asked but as, the participant shakes her head as a 'no'.

And they cannot believe that she hasn't had, or tried cereal before in her life even the producers but once they finished their breakfast and cleaned; up they went back to practice for eight to ten hours a day until the timer reaches zero.

But as night comes they are wondering where is the, youngest until Brooke entered the practice room and told them then they went to the second level; and see the doctor leaving.

"Molina, what is it? Is she okay?" girl 3 asked in concern.

She lightly shook her head.

"Christina...nearly topped herself. If...If me and Brooke didn't..." Molina said sadly as she begins, to cry and hugs the participants while Brooke; goes in to see how she is but she recognised small old needle marks on Christina's arms.

As Brooke out of the room and told them about the marks, they they all agreed to confront her about it in the morning and Brooke went to make; dinner while the others finish practice for the day before they have a wish and get ready for dinner.

As Brooke finished making dinner they see Christina, standing there don't know what to do until Molina went over and walked to the table even sat down; and she told them how the marks got on her arms but didn't expect Brooke to lose her cool while cutting, the vegetable and they give a funny expression along with the producers; choreographer and managers that are watching.

Not long after Brooke cleaned up and brushed her teeth and then she went into, the room with '1st, 2nd and 3rd' on the door and sees a letter on her bed; addressed to her in Korean but as she reads it a memory shadow appears of all happenings that, happened on the supernatural alliance mainland and as she finished reading the letter she looked at; the signature and sees it in Korean saying 'from grandaunt Tachi Ritsula.'

As she puts the letter away while the other participants head, to bed and turn off the lights and go to sleep but in the supernatural alliance mainland; a woman is running into a forest with fog but as the woman continues running until she couldn't, hear anything and so the woman stopping even starting walking backwards and as she sees a shadow but; before run the woman turns even sees a person wearing black clothing smirks and grabs the, woman before she could scream and bites her neck in the fog.

But at the stars where the sun is rising the, participants wake up and sees the producers standing around the glass window on the second level; watching the news.

"Good morning, around 11pm last night a missing person's report went out for a 19 year old woman. She was believed to be hunted by, vampires that hasn't been or seen for generations. If you see this woman please contact the, supernatural alliance military police asap. This is Sally Williams reporting." news anchor said before the producers; turned off the tv.

As the producers turned and see them standing there, in their pajamas along unique hairstyle bed hair and the producers are scratching their heads confusedly.

"Uh...Girls. Go get ready for practice. While we leave it to, you." professor said as they head where to the producers watch on the monitor.

The participants goes to get ready for practice.
