Evening the small party from the Elstrand family approached Kael's estate.
Three men rode on horseback, their expressions tense and determined.
At the head of the group was Captain Darnel, a grizzled veteran with a scar running down his cheek.
Beside him rode Edric, a younger soldier with sharp eyes and a cautious demeanor, and Father Halven, a priest with a calm but stern expression.
"Stay sharp," Darnel said as the estate's walls came into view. "We're here to get answers, not to provoke a fight."
"Do you think he'll let us see her?" Edric asked, his voice tinged with doubt.
Darnel's grip tightened on the reins. "That depends on what Kael Vortan wants. But if he's harmed her... we'll make him pay."
Father Halven shook his head. "Keep your tempers in check. We're here as messengers, not warriors. Baron Kael holds all the power right now. We can't afford to act recklessly."
