Last Time Back

"So, this is it." James was the first to break the silence that had fallen on the group since they had found a compartment big enough for the 15 of them. It was more like a whole section, not just one compartment. 

"I wish you could come back with me next year," Lily started to cry. She was already upset that this was her last time going to Hogwarts with James.

"But next year, you are going to be the best quidditch captain the school has ever seen. I cannot wait to hear all about it already," James hugged his baby sister and smiled at her when he let go. 

"You'll be even better than Dad," Albus added. 

"Yeah, I agree. You'll have to have your mother give you all sorts of pointers and tips Lily," Scorpius hoped the talk of quidditch would help their friend not be so upset. 

"How many 7th years do we have anyway?" Hugo, not getting the point of switching the conversation, earned a scowl from both of the Potter boys. 

Though everyone watched as Scorpius, Ara, Hyperion, James, Lysander, Mary, and Hugo all raised their hands. "That many!" Lily started to get even more upset. 

"It's alright, Lily. You'll have a family with you the whole time." Ara smiled at the girl and leaned into James. She was secretly very happy her and her boyfriend was in the same year. She liked being able to spend so much time with him and would hate it if he wasn't there with her. 

"I suppose." Lily showed a small smile, and James smiled because of it. 

Everyone talked about different things and how things would be different next year, and everything they were going to learn in the upcoming term. 

"Do you think you are going to be able to do well in Advanced Potions, James? You barely got an E on your OWLs." 

"I'll do amazing; you'll be in there to help me," He grinned at Ara, and she frowned at him.

"I am not going to do all of your work," 

"I had no such intentions." James faked being hurt from what she said, and Ara couldn't help but laugh. He was so dramatic. 

"Do you think you'll be able to finally make it into Slughorn's club, though?" Scorpius asked. Everyone knew the answer to that. 

"Absolutely not. He thinks I'll blow up everything any time I walk into his room."

"It's not an absurd thought," Mary said with a laugh. 

"I've seen a couple of kids from my year do it," Declan added with a scared face. 

"I am sure that you can make it, just owl your dad about it," 

"I don't want to be in the club," James said proudly. "I just want to pass my NEWTs and be done with everything," 

"Well, what are you going to do when you are done with school?" Ara looked at her boyfriend, curiously.

Ara hoped the answer would be travel with her, but she didn't know if he would say that in front of everybody, or if his wants had changed.

James shrugged and then whispered something in Ara's ear that made her smile. Hyperion and Scorpius wondered what it would be but decided to let it go. 

"There you are!" Lila walked in and sat down next to Scorpius.

"Hello dear," he smiled at her, and everyone looked at them horrified when they started snogging right there in front of everyone. 

"Hey mate," James laughed a little, "Find your own compartment for that," 

Scorpius and Lila both went red, and she slunk into the seat next to his. Scorpius just looked around at everyone's shocked face and groaned to himself. 

"Mr. Malfoy and Mrs. Malfoy, if I could see the two of you in my compartment," McGonagall had come in and was looking at all the children of the law that had been dismissed so long ago. They looked happy, and she was glad. 

"Me or Scorp Ma'am?" Hyperion questioned.

"You Hyperion," McGonagall nodded at him, and he and Ara stood up from where they were sitting and followed their Headmistress. 

They sat down in two chairs opposite hers and waited for what she had to say. 

"I have given it a lot of thought and have made my decision," She started, "I would like the two fo you to be the Heads for this year," She smiled at them and handed them their badges. Ara lit up instantly. She had been hoping for this since she had become a prefect. Hyperion just looked at his badge; father was going to be so proud. 

"Thank you, Ma'am," Ara said for her and her brother. 

"You may go back to your compartment, but do change soon; we should be arriving shortly."

They left and went back to where they had been before. James smiled when Ara walked back and sat down beside him. 

"Look," She said, opening her hand showing her pin. 

"Congratulations love," He kissed her on the nose, and Scorpius congratulated both of his siblings. 

"Mom and Dad are going to be so excited," He said. He knew that they were going to get them. He figured as much.

"Are you upset?" Hyperion looked worried. 

"No, of course not," Scorpius smiled and went back to talking with his girlfriend. He was proud of his siblings. Always would be.
